🎯 The core idea

The best AION 2 Gladiator build for Global endgame PvE stacks Critical Hit and Combat Speed around one engine: Overhead Slam at level 16 or higher with the Critical Hit and Remove cooldown specialties. Bind a short macro to right click, cast Zikel's Blessing, Lunge Stance and Ruinous Blow by hand, take block and damage stigmas, and spend Daevanion points on your three main skills first.

  • free costs nothing
  • cheap small cost
  • setup needs preparation
  • grind pays off slowly
  • skip the thing to stop doing

Who this Gladiator endgame build is for

This AION 2 Gladiator guide follows an endgame PvE DPS setup shown by Ulfhednar on Global servers on October 18, 2026, three days before the October 21 patch. His character runs Overhead Slam at level 19 (18 in some of the footage) and Rending Blow at level 16, and he admits his gear is far from finished: no crafted items yet, and a fire-temple weapon whose extended reach line replaces a damage stat. A crafted greatsword is the better target. So treat this as the aion 2 gladiator endgame build to grow into, not a finished best-in-slot list.

It also explains the warning in our AION 2 class tier list: Gladiator sits low early because it needs level 16 Overhead Slam. The skill tooltip in this video confirms why (see the next sections). If you are still levelling, read the AION 2 beginner guide first; this page assumes your skills are already in the teens.

None of this is an aion 2 gladiator pvp build. Every choice here targets bosses: PvE Damage Boost titles, Primal Vigor's PvE Attack, and a manual-buff rotation timed around boss phases. Several pieces still carry over, because Zikel's Blessing and Experienced Counterstrike also give PvP Damage Boost, but a PvP setup needs its own testing.

Gladiator macro setup: put it on right click

free The whole aion 2 gladiator macro idea rests on one key binding. Open Settings > Key Settings > General, scroll down and bind the macro to right click. In combat you then hold left and right click together: left click runs your normal attacks, right click runs the macro.

With Rending Blow placed right behind Overhead Slam, this setup animation-cancels your attacks. The video's tell is visual: when shadows spawn right on top of your character, Keen Strike is proccing and cancelling animations. That matters because Keen Strike shortens Ruinous Blow, your biggest hit (see the rotation section).

setup Don't take the macro on faith. The creator asks you to test it yourself: hit a training scarecrow for a one-minute window with a damage meter running, once with Rending Blow inside the macro and once on its own button, and keep whichever version gives more DPS for your skill levels.

Overhead Slam: the level 16 breakpoint

Overhead Slam is the core of every aion 2 gladiator dps setup. The tooltip in the video (at +9) reads: 6,182 to 6,450 damage to a target hit by Knockdown within 4 m, increases Enmity, always lands as a Critical Hit, and has a 7% chance to trigger when you attack a target with Incapacitated Immunity.

Its specialty list shows five options: absorb 0.7% HP, change to an AoE skill, add the Upward Strike chain skill, Critical Hit on hit, and Remove cooldown. At level 16 to 19 the tooltip shows two specialty slots open and a third still locked, and the video picks Critical Hit on hit and Remove cooldown. With Remove cooldown active, the tooltip lists the cooldown as Instant Cast, which is why the skill can sit in a spam macro.

The creator says he and another player tested Upward Strike and it lost to Critical Hit. Crit also feeds Rage Burst and Murderous Burst, so it is the stat this build keeps coming back to.

This matches the tier list's claim, credited there to a different video, that Gladiator needs level 16 Overhead Slam: below 16 you don't have both specialties, so the skill has a cooldown and the macro loop falls apart.

Rending Blow and mana sustain

Rending Blow is the second macro skill. Its tooltip (at +6) reads: 2,662 to 2,784 damage to up to 4 enemies within 4 m, increases Enmity, restores 50 MP on landing a Critical Hit, 120 MP cost. Its specialties include -20% MP consumed, +200 Block while casting, changes to mobile skill, up to 12% more damage under a condition, and the 50 MP on crit. The video takes the mobile version and the MP restore, since every Rending Blow lands into a crit-heavy build.

How you use it depends on its level:

Rending Blow levelWhere it goesTrade-off
Below 16Inside the main macro, right behind Overhead SlamLower DPS, mana stays stable
16 or higherOn its own button and added to the macroMore damage, much harder on mana

The video says the separate-button version gives better DPS but drains MP fast, which is why level 16 matters here too. cheap If mana runs dry, the creator uses an MP potion that cuts MP cost by 20%; you can craft it or buy it.

Gladiator rotation: macro, manual buffs and speed farming

The aion 2 gladiator rotation is short. If your Rending Blow is below level 16, the macro is just Rage Burst, Overhead Slam and Rending Blow. Everything else is pressed by hand.

setup Cast Zikel's Blessing, Lunge Stance and Ruinous Blow manually. The creator moved all three out of the macro because bosses often switch to a mechanic phase right after you buff, which wastes the buffs and your biggest hit. Open each pull with these three, then hold both mouse buttons.

Keen Strike keeps Ruinous Blow coming back. Its tooltip (at +5) reads: 1,527 to 1,598 damage to up to 4 enemies within 4 m, increases Enmity, reduces the Ruinous Blow cooldown by 1 second on hit and restores 120 MP. Its specialties add +20% MP restored, +50% Multi-Hit on hit and a second -1s Ruinous Blow cooldown on hit. If Rending Blow sits on a separate button, the video warns that Keen Strike fires less often.

For speed farming, make a second macro with just Leaping Slam. Holding right click then leaps you from one target to the next automatically.

Extra skills: Sword Aura Rampage and Mocking Blade

Sword Aura Rampage deals 3,028 to 3,164 damage to a target hit by Stagger within 4 m, reduces all skill cooldowns by 1 second and lands as a Multi-Hit (tooltip at +6). Its specialties include absorb 5% HP, restore 120 MP, mobile, Multi-Hit on hit, and -1s to all cooldowns on hit. The creator tried the cooldown version and found it not that great. If mana is your problem, take the MP restore instead: staggers happen often on bosses, so the DPS loss is small. Put it in the macro ahead of Rending Blow so it fires first during stagger checks.

Mocking Blade at level 8 is the video's dungeon survival tip. The tooltip reads: 5,916 to 6,237 damage, 3 seconds of Knockdown, absorbs 4% HP, and 15% HP against targets with Incapacitated Immunity. That self-heal takes pressure off your Cleric.

On taunting: none of the skills shown in this build is a taunt. Threat comes from damage skills whose tooltips say "increases Enmity" (Overhead Slam, Rending Blow, Keen Strike), which fits the tier list's note that Gladiator has no real taunt and holds aggro only once its damage is high.

Passives worth levelling

The video ranks four passives. These are also the lines you chase on gear, arcana and the Daevanion board, so learn the names:

PassiveWhat it does (tooltip shown)Why it matters
Attack PreparationDamage passiveThe video's number one pick for PvE
Experienced CounterstrikeOn Block: +7.2% front attack damage, +12.2% PvE damage, +6.1% PvP damage for 20 s, for you and your partyWhy the build takes a block stigma; doesn't stack with Templar's Fury
Impact Hit+31.6% Impact-type chance and +5.4% Double Chance (at level 10, +8)Double Chance is strong on Gladiator
Murderous BurstDamage passiveWorks with the crit stacking

Experienced Counterstrike is a party buff as much as a personal one. The tooltip says its PvE and PvP Damage Boost doesn't stack with a Templar's Fury, so it is worth less when your group already has a Templar.

Best Gladiator stigmas for PvE

These are the aion 2 gladiator stigmas the video runs, read from the in-game tooltips:

StigmaLevelWhat it gives
Lunge Stance20+20% Combat Speed, +20% Move Speed, +5% Double Chance for 20 s; Identify Weakness x1.5; 50% chance to cut all cooldowns by 1 s on a crit
Zikel's Blessing15+20% Attack, +100 Accuracy, +50% Stagger damage, +10% PvE Damage Boost, +5% PvP, +50% Multi-Hit chance for 17 s
Rage Burst20 ideal, 5 is fineDamage boost at high level
Focused Block5Block guarantees Parry, 100% block damage reduction, restores 150 MP and Stamina once on Parry, 2 uses

grind Stigma points are scarce, so spend them in this order: Lunge Stance to 20 first, then Zikel's Blessing. The video says level 10 Zikel's Blessing already gives the PvE damage boost; level 15 is for the extra Multi-Hit chance. Rage Burst can sit at 5 until you have points to spare. Focused Block keeps you blocking, which keeps Experienced Counterstrike up and keeps you on the target.

The creator wants to try Wave Armor later at level 15. Its locked specialties multiply Experienced Counterstrike (level 10) and Murderous Burst (level 15) by 1.5. He hasn't tested it yet, so it is a future option, not part of the build. The beginner guide's starter stigma list also has Lifestealing Blade, which this endgame setup doesn't use.

Gladiator Daevanion board path

The aion 2 gladiator daevanion route is the same on every board: path through the blue tiles first, then head for the legendary corner nodes.

  • Blue tiles: Overhead Slam, Ruinous Blow and Rending Blow levels.
  • Corner legendary nodes: cooldown reduction and Combat Speed.
  • Green tiles: Attack Preparation, Murderous Burst, Experienced Counterstrike, Impact Hit.
  • Small tiles with spare points: Attack Bonus first, then Critical Hit.
  • Only if mana is a real problem: the +50 MP nodes.

The creator has 416 points across the four boards (Nezakan, Zikel, Vaizel and Triniel) and calls that the maximum for now. He got extra points from the Shugo Festival shop and 50 from the Growth tab of the Nightmare trade shop. That ceiling is already out of date: the October 21 patch notes add a fifth board, Ariel. Its points come from Ariel Fragments earned in Expedition (Hard); 100 fragments convert into one Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound) through Substance Morph, up to 30 times per character.

grind Once your Daevanion points are covered, the video says to spend leftover shop currency on Stigma Shards from both shops and the Abyss shop. You can see any player's boards, arcana and titles on their character profile on the official site; it doesn't show skill specialties.

Gear and stats priority by slot

This on-screen summary is the quickest answer to aion 2 gladiator gear and aion 2 gladiator stats:

SlotStats to roll
Weapon and guardCombat Speed, Damage Boost (Overhead Slam on the guard if you can)
Helm and cloakDouble Chance, Attack
Chest and pantsDamage Boost, Attack
Gloves and necklaceCombat Speed, Might
Boots and earringsMovement Speed, Might
RingsOverhead Slam, Ruinous Blow, Rending Blow
Secondary statsAccuracy, Attack, Critical Hit
Passive linesAttack Preparation, Experienced Counterstrike, Impact Hit, Murderous Burst

Gloves get Combat Speed as their first stat. On boots, the creator says Movement Speed raises your combat power a lot, so don't skip it.

Some numbers come only from the video's memory, so treat them as rough. He recalls that the Korean raid needed about 1,400 Accuracy, and the raid isn't on Global yet. He also says your stat sheet's crit chance overstates real crits, because there is a crit cap and bosses have critical hit resist. For runes, he warns that +1 is safe but higher enhancements can fail and destroy the rune, so keep a backup before you push them.

Titles for a PvE Gladiator

free Three title slots, read from the equipped effects on screen:

  • Guardian of Altgard: 3% PvE Damage Boost and 210 Penetration. The video calls it the best damage title right now.
  • Saint of Altgard: 300 Defense, 3% Damage Tolerance and 100 Block, for when you take hits at the front.
  • Third slot: many players use Through Hell and Back for cooldown reduction. The creator prefers a title with 2.5% Combat Speed and 2.5% Move Speed.

The long-term offensive pick, per the video, is a Janus title (the captions call it "Unbound by Janus"), which needs all your pets at level 10. That is expensive, so the creator spends Kinah on gear first.

Gladiator arcana cards

Aion 2 gladiator arcana works like a second layer of gear. Roll your main skill and passive levels onto the cards so you don't need them on your gear:

CardSetWhat to roll
ChaliceVigorOverhead Slam, Attack Preparation (Chalice of Vigor shown: Overhead Slam +1, Attack Preparation +4)
ParchmentVigorOverhead Slam or Ruinous Blow
CompassMagicRending Blow (Overhead Slam can't roll here)
BellMagicAttack Preparation and other main passives
MirrorMagicExperienced Counterstrike, Impact Hit, Murderous Burst

The Vigor set (Primal Vigor) gives +60 PvE Attack at 2 pieces when your HP is 70% or higher, and +150 at 4 pieces. Its Time stat is Combat Speed (press P in game to check what each stat does). The Magic set's 2-piece bonus (Magic Armor) restores MP when you drop to 20% MP or lower, on a 30-second cooldown. The creator says this fixes most of the build's mana problems.

On the Mirror, pick the Wisdom stat (Double Chance and lower MP use) over Illusion (cooldown recovery). The creator's own Compass is still Vigor and he plans to replace it with a Magic one.

Wings, Pantheon and the statue

Wings. Forest Spirit wings are the cheap start: attack and defense, plus an owned effect that helps damage. The video then shows Dark Veil Wings, a Ferocious Den drop. Equipped, they give 60 Attack, 2.5% Damage Boost, 500 Boss Defense and 3.5% Boss Damage Tolerance. Their owned effect adds 200 Flight Power, 1% Damage Boost, 300 Boss Defense and 20 PvE Attack. Nightmare wings are strong but costly. The creator also calls a pair with 4% cooldown reduction probably best in slot, but the name isn't clear in the video, so check the wing list in game.

Pantheon. grind The video's top target is the Zikel colossus. The creator says it gives 45 Destruction (a damage stat), comes from Nightmare dungeon kills and costs about 14,000 points. Paintings and artwork depend on what you can get.

Statue. The statue shown comes from a Transcendent dungeon achievement: kill the last boss 10 times. You don't need to claim the reward energy. The creator warns that the entry counter drops with each run, and at zero you can't run those dungeons on any character, alts included. Do these kills near the end of the reset.

How this guide was fact-checked

  • From the video's on-screen tooltips and menus: every skill, stigma and passive number above (Overhead Slam, Rending Blow, Keen Strike, Sword Aura Rampage, Mocking Blade, Experienced Counterstrike, Impact Hit, Lunge Stance, Zikel's Blessing, Focused Block, Wave Armor), the Overhead Slam specialty list, the title, arcana set and wing stats, and the gear summary table.
  • From the official patch notes on Steam (up to October 21, 2026): no Gladiator class changes since launch. The October 21 patch added the fifth Daevanion board, Ariel, plus Expedition (Hard). So the video's 416-point ceiling is outdated and corrected above.
  • Spelling corrections: auto captions call the skill "Running Blow"; the tooltip names it Rending Blow. The stigmas the captions spell as "Lunch Stance" and "Zicker's Blessing" are Lunge Stance and Zikel's Blessing. The captions' "Overwhelm" and "a word slam" are both Overhead Slam.
  • Tier list check: the tier list says Gladiator needs level 16 Overhead Slam; this video confirms it: 16 is where the Critical Hit and Remove cooldown specialties are both active. The "no taunt" claim isn't stated in this video, but no taunt appears in the skills it shows.
  • Attributed to the video only: DPS comparisons between macro setups, the 20% MP potion, the Korean raid's 1,400 Accuracy figure, crit cap and boss crit resist, rune failure rates, the Zikel colossus cost, the statue's dungeon counter and the Daevanion point sources. There is no reliable English AION 2 wiki yet to check these.

What this guide doesn't answer

  • Exact DPS numbers: the video shows no meter results for its macro variants, and they change with your skill levels, so run the one-minute scarecrow test yourself.
  • Raid-specific setup: the raid isn't live on Global, so accuracy targets and raid gear are guesses until it releases.
  • A full PvP build: different stigmas and titles matter there; it needs its own guide.
  • Where every item drops: crafting recipes, weapon sources and the Ludra bracelet route are mentioned in the video too briefly to cover properly.
  • Whether Gladiator is the right class for you: see the tier list for how it ranks on Global.

Frequently asked

What is the best Gladiator build in AION 2 for PvE?

For Global endgame PvE, build around Overhead Slam at level 16 or higher with the Critical Hit on hit and Remove cooldown specialties. Stack Critical Hit and Combat Speed, run Lunge Stance at level 20, Zikel's Blessing, Rage Burst and Focused Block as stigmas, and level Attack Preparation, Experienced Counterstrike, Impact Hit and Murderous Burst through gear, arcana and the Daevanion board.

Why does Gladiator need level 16 Overhead Slam in AION 2?

Below level 16 you don't have both key Overhead Slam specialties open. From level 16 you can take Critical Hit on hit and Remove cooldown together, which makes the skill always crit and leaves it with no cooldown, so it can be spammed from a macro. That is why Gladiator feels weak early and strong once the skill reaches 16.

How do I set up the Gladiator macro in AION 2?

Go to Settings > Key Settings > General and bind the macro to right click, then hold left and right click together. Below level 16 Rending Blow, put Rage Burst, Overhead Slam and Rending Blow in the macro. At 16 or higher, Rending Blow can also go on its own button for more damage but worse mana. Cast Zikel's Blessing, Lunge Stance and Ruinous Blow by hand.

Which stigmas should a Gladiator use in AION 2?

Lunge Stance at level 20 first (Combat Speed, Move Speed, Double Chance and cooldown cuts on crit), then Zikel's Blessing (level 10 for the PvE damage boost, 15 for extra Multi-Hit chance), Rage Burst (level 5 is fine until you have spare points, 20 ideally) and Focused Block at level 5 for guaranteed parries and MP on parry.

What stats should a Gladiator get on gear in AION 2?

Combat Speed and Damage Boost on the weapon and guard, Double Chance and Attack on helm and cloak, Damage Boost and Attack on chest and pants, Combat Speed and Might on gloves and necklace, Movement Speed and Might on boots and earrings, and Overhead Slam, Ruinous Blow and Rending Blow levels on rings. Secondary stats: Accuracy, Attack and Critical Hit.
