What this site is
Guides Factory is a free, public library of written game guides. Reading it never needs an account: you open a page and read it, and the site is paid for by the advertising on it. There are no subscriptions and no payments.
If you want to write guides yourself, you can create a free account. That is the only thing an account is for.
The one thing you can send us is a suggestion — a link to a video you think is worth rebuilding as a guide. You need no account to send one, and sending one puts us under no obligation: we may build a guide from it, ignore it, or delete it, and there is no reply either way. Do not put anything private in it. It is a note to an editor, not a support channel, and it is stored as plain text.
Everything you can tick, sort, or filter happens in your own browser. Your checklist progress is stored there and nowhere else, which is also why it does not follow you to another device and why clearing site data clears it.
Your account
An account is an email address and a password, and you need to be at least 16 to create one. You sign in with the address, and it is never shown on the site. You can add a display name, a headline, a short bio, your experience and links to your other profiles.
That profile becomes public once the editors have checked who you are: it is then your author page, and the guides you publish carry your name and link to it. Until then nobody else sees it, and a guide of yours that is published is signed with the site's name.
Your account has one session, shared by every browser and device you sign in on. Signing out ends it everywhere at once, and so does changing your password.
We can stop an account from sending guides for review — for spam, for copying other people's work, or for anything that breaks these terms. You can still sign in and read, and your drafts stay yours.
There is no button to delete an account yet. Write to support@guides-factory.com from the address you signed up with and we will delete it, together with every guide you wrote that has not been published. Published guides stay up under the licence below unless you ask for them to come down as well; either way, your name comes off them.
Guides you write
A guide you write stays yours. By sending it for review you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish it on this site, to edit it for accuracy, formatting and length, and to show it in the formats the site already offers — the page itself, its markdown version, and the feeds and sitemaps that list it. The licence lasts until you ask us to take the guide down.
Only send what you have the right to send. A guide built from someone else's video must name and link that video, as every guide on the site does; a guide copied from someone else's text will be rejected, and repeating it gets an account blocked.
A moderator reads every guide before it is published. They may approve it, send it back with a note saying what to change, or reject it, and they owe no reason beyond that note. While a guide is waiting for review it is locked; you can withdraw it to keep editing.
You can ask us to take down a published guide you wrote at any time.
Guides, sources and credit
Every guide is an adaptation of a specific creator's video. The guide names that video, links to it, and links back into it at the individual claims it draws on. We do not host anyone's video and we do not present a source's work as our own.
The written text, structure and layout of a guide are ours. The underlying video, and everything shown in it, belongs to the creator who made it. Game names, artwork and trademarks belong to their publishers, who do not endorse this site.
If you are the rights holder of a source video and you would rather a guide built from it did not exist, write to us and it comes down. We do not ask for a reason and we do not require a formal notice first.
Accuracy, and what we do not promise
A guide describes a game at a moment in time. Patches change numbers, leagues end, and a meta snapshot is stale by design — the pages that depend on a version say which one. Follow a guide at your own discretion; we make no warranty that any of it is correct, current, or suited to what you are trying to do.
The site is provided as it is, without any guarantee of availability. We are not liable for time, progress or in-game resources lost by following a guide, to the extent the law allows us to say so.
Found something wrong? Tell us and we will fix the page. A correction is more useful to us than a complaint, and it is the fastest way to get a bad number off the site.
Acceptable use
The site exists so players can follow a guide while they play. Anything that gets in the way of that is not acceptable use.
Automated reading is welcome through the interfaces published for it — every guide has a markdown twin at its own URL, and the catalogue is listed in llms.txt and in the sitemaps. Use those rather than crawling the HTML, and keep the rate somewhere a human could plausibly read at.
- No requests at a rate that degrades the site for other readers.
- No mirroring or republishing guide text as your own work.
- No probing the infrastructure for vulnerabilities without written permission.
- No attempt to interfere with the advertising the site runs on.
Changes and contact
We update these terms when the site changes, and the date at the top says when that last happened. Continuing to use the site after a change means the new version applies.
