🎯 The core idea

WARDOGS Season 2 is Update 0.2.0, which went live on 15 October 2026. It adds four guns, the Molotov, four vehicles including the Gepard anti-air tank, three buildables and rain. It also cuts high-calibre damage, makes building and anti-air more expensive, and roughly halves the XP needed to reach role level 20. This guide covers each change from the official patch notes and what it means in a match.

  • free costs nothing
  • cheap small cost
  • setup needs preparation
  • grind pays off slowly
  • skip the thing to stop doing

When WARDOGS Season 2 went live and what Update 0.2.0 is

free BULKHEAD posted the full Season 02 patch notes on Steam on 14 October 2026. Servers went down for maintenance on 15 October between 08:00 and 09:30 UTC, and the studio's "Season 02 is now live" post confirmed the release as Update 0.2.0. WARDOGS has been in Steam Early Access since 10 September 2026, so this is the first full season change since launch.

This guide follows those patch notes and uses two long pre-launch breakdowns for context: Airwingmarine's 72-minute read-through ("Every WARDOGS Season 2 Change You NEED to Know Before It Drops", uploaded 14 October) and Gigabeef's 51-minute analysis ("The ENTIRE Game Is Changing In WARDOGS Season 2"). Both were recorded before the servers came back up. Where they guessed or misread something, the patch notes win, and each correction is named below.

If you're looking for the latest WARDOGS update today: as of 26 October 2026, the official Steam news feed has nothing newer than 0.2.0. The two October 2 hotfixes and Update 0.1.2 were Season 1 patches.

Gigabeef points out that the season rollover also reset progress. What carried over and when the next reset is expected are covered in our WARDOGS wipe guide. This page sticks to what Season 2 changed.

Four new guns and their attachments

cheap Season 2 adds one weapon to four different archetypes, each with its own set of attachments:

WeaponCalibreTypeTrack and unlockVendor price
TCX-SPR7.62x39mmAssault rifleAssault LVL 20, $100k$3,200
PP-19 Bizon9x19mmSMGMedic, unlocked by default$1,000
Evo-3 Ultra.308 WinLMGSupport LVL 30, $200k$7,250
M14.308 WinMarksman rifleRecon LVL 25, $100k$7,400

The TCX-SPR takes the M4's old level-20 slot on the Assault track. The M4 moves to level 28, and its unlock cost rises from $100k to $150k. The Bizon replaces the AMP-9 as the Medic's free starter SMG; the AMP-9 now needs Medic level 20. Gigabeef says the TCX-SPR arrives "at level 21". The patch notes list level 20.

The Evo-3 Ultra fires .308, and the patch notes say so plainly. Airwingmarine relays a developer remark from the pre-season press conference that it sits "halfway between an LMG and an assault rifle" and is meant to be used on the move. Treat that as intent for now. The official notes only call it an LMG.

Molotov, battery-powered IR range finder and heavier helmets

cheap The Molotov ($340, Assault LVL 13, $25k to unlock) can be thrown overarm or underarm. A direct hit deals impact damage, and the fire burns anyone standing in it over time. It also burns destructible foliage. Rain weakens the flames. According to Airwingmarine's summary of the press conference, the Molotov is meant for clearing buildings and area denial, not for damaging vehicles.

The Infrared Range Finder now runs on batteries. One battery lasts about 80 seconds of active use and drains faster if you toggle it on and off quickly. The range finder's price also went from $1,200 to $3,200. Gigabeef's "3,300" is off by $100.

skip The Level 4 helmet now muffles your audio and proximity chat, narrows your field of view and fogs up while you sprint. Level 3 and Level 4 helmets now resist suppression better (68% and 80%), but their damage reduction dropped. If you were wearing a Level 4 helmet as a cheap headshot insurance while sniping, that's now a real trade-off.

New vehicles: Gepard, T-72B3 and Wolf-110

grind All four new vehicles sit on the Driver track. Airwingmarine guessed the Gepard would be a Support unlock, but the patch notes place it on the Driver track:

VehicleRoleDriver unlockVendor price
Wolf-110Fast light transportLVL 8, $50k$2,200
Wolf-110 [M2 Browning]Ring-mounted .50 calLVL 16, $125k$7,800
T-72B3Main battle tankLVL 20, $250k$16,000
Flakpanzer GepardAnti-airLVL 25, $300k$14,000

The T-72B3 is slower than the L2A6 but cheaper. The final patch notes say it's "slightly" more fuel-efficient, while the earlier Season 02 preview said "far more". The L2A6 itself went up from $14,000 to $22,000, so the T-72B3 is now the budget tank. The SPH-2 artillery moved from WARDOG level 90 to Driver level 31, and its unlock cost dropped from $500k to $350k.

Gigabeef calls the Gepard the biggest change of the season. It gives a team mobile anti-air that doesn't depend on a FOB, at the same time as the Talon was nerfed (see the building section). At one point he says "leopard" when he means the Gepard.

Rain, thunder and three new buildables

free Season 2 adds a rain weather preset that changes how fights play out:

  • Surfaces, vehicles and characters get visibly wet, and rain sounds different under cover, indoors, inside a vehicle and in the open.
  • Destroy a roof and the rain comes through it.
  • Thunder in heavier rain is synced: every player hears the same strike at the same moment from the same direction. It's loud enough to mask footsteps.
  • Rain shortens spotting range and weakens Molotov fire.

Gigabeef expects rain to favour players who sneak up on enemy FOBs. The noise covers footsteps and C4 placement.

The three new buildables are the MG Nest, a manned M2 Browning (large hammer, 650 supplies); the Large Shelter, a metal roof for vehicles and key assets (medium hammer and up, 250 supplies); and the Wooden Step (small hammer and up). Barbed wire and sandbags can once again go on top of Bremmer walls.

Damage, armor and suppression rebalance

setup High-calibre rounds lost base damage on every weapon that fires them, including vehicle guns such as the Little Bird and Humvee miniguns:

CalibreBase damage change
.308 Winchester-25%
7.62x54mmR-20%
7.62x39mm-19%
.50 Cal-16%

Sniper rifles had their hit-location damage raised to compensate, so bolt-actions still hit hard. DMRs got weaker headshot and upper-body damage, plus a new recoil pass. Torso damage on assault rifles is now more even and slightly lower. LMG body damage now matches assault rifles, so LMGs are meant to win fights through sustained fire and magazine size rather than bigger hits. The FAL still has the highest per-shot damage of any assault rifle.

Armor damage reduction went down: Level 3 from 55% to 50%, Level 4 from 65% to 60%. The Scout Rifle now kills an unhelmeted target with one headshot and needs two through a Level 1 helmet. Damage from 12 gauge slugs and the Compound Bow now scales with armor tier instead of applying one flat reduction.

Suppression was rebuilt on shared falloff curves. Near-misses from small and medium calibres suppress much harder, and fire rate is factored in so SMGs and pistols don't suppress more than they should. Screen shake was toned down to compensate.

Parachutes, MGL-40, Mosin and other weapon tweaks

skip Last-second parachute pulls are gone. Parachutes now take longer to open, won't open at all below about 10 m, and if you're falling fast and open below about 50 m you'll still take fall damage. The Basic Parachute went from $100 to $500 and the Sport Parachute dropped from $1,000 to $700. Gigabeef's take: you can't count on jumping from a helicopter as the default way in any more, so trust your pilot, drive or fly yourself.

Other weapon changes:

  • MGL-40: muzzle velocity -25%, stronger damage falloff at the edge of the blast, and more sway, slower ADS and a reload penalty from the Little Bird bench.
  • Mosin: gets the new PU 91/30 3.5x scope and loses access to every other optic.
  • MP5: more horizontal recoil. Super-45: more damage falloff beyond 50 m.
  • Medical Bag: durability raised from 100 to 150.

Building costs, drill rigs and the anti-air nerf

setup BULKHEAD's stated goal is to make structures "a considered investment rather than something you spam". Supply costs went up across the board:

BuildableSeason 1Season 2
Bremmer wall1532
Door2280
Gate85200
Air raid shelter, bunker, crow's nest100200
L81 Mortar150600
Stingray150650
Talon 9K-SAM1,000650
Vanguard CIWS1,5001,200
Hot Zone Magnet2,2502,750

The Talon got cheaper to build but much weaker. Reload went from 2 s to 5 s, which gives pilots time to flare again between shots, and each restock from munition supplies now costs 200 instead of 50. Mortar restock went from 75 to 150, and a new firing animation slows down rapid fire.

Drill rigs now need 2,000 fuel to start (up from 1,500). Their maximum uptime fell from 375 s to 300 s, matching capturable towers. Max fuel went up from 7,500 to 10,000, and a destroyed rig takes much longer before it can be rebuilt.

Other changes: the medium hammer builds less per swing, and hammers can no longer breach doors and gates. The Halligan bar can now breach both. CIWS fire now shreds light cover but struggles against heavy fortifications, and it takes 2.25x longer to kill a Spawn Vehicle.

Faster role levels and reshuffled unlocks

grind BULKHEAD says reaching role level 20 now takes less than half the playtime it did in Season 1:

Role levelSeason 1 total XPSeason 2 total XPFaster by
1035,00025,00029%
15110,00054,75050%
20250,000111,50055%
25365,000206,60043%
30500,000318,20036%
501,500,0001,150,00023%

Unlock highlights:

  • Assault is now the role for attacking bases. It gets C4 and the remote detonator (LVL 4, moved from Support), the Molotov, and the AK-74 by default (the T-21 moves to LVL 3).
  • Medic: the Medical Bag now unlocks at LVL 14 (was 24) for $50k, and the Defibrillator moves to LVL 22 for $110k. The MP5 now unlocks at LVL 4. Gigabeef reads this as "level 42", but the notes say LVL 4.
  • Recon: the M14 line runs from LVL 25 to 42. Its 20-round magazine is LVL 31, not the "51" Gigabeef reads out. The BMR-308 moves down to LVL 20.
  • Support: the PKM drops to LVL 15 (was 30), and the M249 moves up to LVL 20.
  • Pilot: the Little Bird AH-6M [Miniguns] moves from LVL 4 to LVL 8 and now costs $125k. The Havoc unlock is $650k.
  • XP routing: destroying buildables, C4 and IEDs now gives Assault XP. Artillery gives Driver XP. Repair XP goes to the Driver or Pilot track depending on what you repair.

Airwingmarine worries that faster levelling will put endgame gear into lobbies within the first week. Gigabeef thinks it mainly helps players with less time. Both are opinions, not data. Our WARDOGS XP guide covers the fastest way to level each class.

Cash rewards, logistics streaks and vendor prices

cheap Season 2 changes which actions pay the most:

  • Assault-archetype kills now pay $2,000 (was $1,500). Hacking a FOB now also pays $1,000 / 250 XP to teammates nearby, and destroying a FOB pays a bonus of up to $7,500 / 250 XP depending on the supplies it held.
  • Each vehicle variant now has its own destroy reward, and armed variants pay more. For example, a Humvee pays $600 by default, $4,250 with the M249 and $5,000 with the Minigun. A Little Bird [Rockets] pays $9,400, and a Lakota [Miniguns] pays $7,500. The T-72B3 is worth $8,000 and the Gepard $7,000.
  • Spotting rewards are about 30% lower and now scale with the value of the target.
  • Base logistics pay went down, but delivery streaks now add a bonus for every consecutive run.

Correction to both videos: both read out the delivery-streak values from the first version of the notes (+$50 / +25 XP per crate, +$125 / +50 XP per pallet). BULKHEAD edited the post the same day. The original numbers were base values without the control-zone multiplier. The live values for a drop in the Control Zone are:

Delivery streakBonus per consecutive runCap
Crates+$100 / +50 XP10
Pallets+$250 / +100 XP10
Players+$25 / +5 XP25
Return trips+$50 / +25 XP10

Vendor prices moved in both directions. Vehicles and helicopters got pricier: L2A6 $22,000, Havoc $28,000, Little Bird [Miniguns] $12,000 (Gigabeef's "1200" is a misread), Little Bird [Rockets] $18,800. Heavy armor went up too: Level 4 helmet $4,500. Some weapons got cheaper: AK-74 $800, PKM $4,100, FAL $6,000, Medical Bag $1,800.

Team switching, teamkills, ping limits and the Lonestar experiment

free These are the server-side and social changes:

  • Team switching: once a team is more than 10 points ahead, you can't switch again for 15 minutes after joining a team. Anyone who switches or joins mid-match has an obscured map and can't use the Spawn Vehicle until they first reach the control zone.
  • Teamkill punish/forgive: when a teammate kills you, you vote Forgive or Punish. Punish marks build up into kicks and escalating bans. Respawning and leaving the safe zone without voting counts as a forgive.
  • Squad intent: squad leaders can show what their squad is doing (for example building or logistics) before players join, and squad invites now queue.
  • Region ping limits: official servers kick players whose ping stays above the limit for a sustained period, and those players can't rejoin that server until the next map. Community servers set their own limits.
  • Server seeding: players who fill an empty server get rewards and a vendor discount. Spawns now have pre-match targets, a football and a hidden radio.

The faction balance experiment targets the blue team, Lonestar. All three spawns on Bakurani were moved and rebuilt. For Season 2 only, Lonestar gets a cash and XP win bonus plus multipliers on teamplay actions. Any team at least 40 points behind second place gets 20% off at the vendor. The Season 02 preview also said Lonestar uniforms would be less saturated, but the final patch notes don't list that change. For how to play the blue side, see our WARDOGS blue team guide.

WARDOGS roadmap: what's next after Season 2

setup The patch notes confirm three things still to come this season. The Wager Vendor, which lets you bet your own cash on objectives you set yourself, wasn't available at launch and will open later in Season 2. BULKHEAD says it will come and go during a season rather than stay permanently. Steam Trading Cards and Points Shop items are also coming during Season 2, pending Valve's approval.

The rest of what's known about the WARDOGS roadmap comes from the developers' pre-season press conference, as summarised by Airwingmarine, so treat it as stated plans rather than patch notes:

  • Season 2 is aimed at about six weeks, but the length can change based on data, and the season can't end until Season 3 content is ready.
  • The skill system isn't in Season 2 and may not make Season 3.
  • A new currency called Intel is planned to become the main way to unlock gear, earned at a steadier rate than XP.
  • Custom squad names were dropped. The squad intent list replaces them.

How this guide was fact-checked

  • Official source: every number in this guide comes from BULKHEAD's "WARDOGS | Season 02 Patch Notes" Steam announcement (14 October 2026, including the same-day edit to the logistics values). Release timing comes from "SEASON 02 IS NOW LIVE" (Update 0.2.0, 15 October). The preview comparisons come from "Road to Season 2" (9 October). The Steam news feed was checked on 26 October 2026 and had no later patch.
  • From the videos, attributed: the Molotov's purpose, the Evo-3 Ultra's intended role, season length, Intel, the skill system and squad names come from the press conference as Airwingmarine relays it. The Gepard and stealth readings are Gigabeef's analysis.
  • Corrections to the videos:
    • Both used the first-posted logistics streak values (crate +$50 / +25 XP, pallet +$125 / +50 XP). The live values are +$100 / +50 XP and +$250 / +100 XP.
    • Airwingmarine guessed the Gepard was a Support unlock. It's Driver LVL 25.
    • Gigabeef read the TCX-SPR unlock as level 21 (it's 20), the MP5 as level 42 (it's 4) and the M14 20-round magazine as level 51 (it's 31). He gave the IR Range Finder price as 3,300 (it's $3,200) and the Little Bird [Miniguns] price as 1,200 (it's $12,000). He also called the Gepard a "leopard" once.
    • The preview's "far more fuel-efficient" T-72 is "slightly" more fuel-efficient in the final notes.
  • Not verified: the small WARDOGS Fandom wiki has no Season 2 page. The pallet-ammo arithmetic in both videos (shots per pallet) was left out because the notes give no pallet size.

What this guide doesn't answer

  • Exact damage per shot after the calibre cuts: the notes give percentages, not final damage tables. That needs in-game testing.
  • Wipe and reset details: what carried over into Season 2 and the next reset date are covered in the wipe guide, not here.
  • Full controller rebind list: the patch notes list over a dozen controller bind moves. Check them in the official post if you play on a gamepad.
  • Every attachment level change: more than 100 attachment unlocks moved. This guide lists the ones that change what you can use early.
  • Wager Vendor odds and objectives: the vendor wasn't live at Season 2 launch, so there's nothing to test yet.

Frequently asked

When did WARDOGS Season 2 come out?

WARDOGS Season 2 went live on 15 October 2026 as Update 0.2.0, after a maintenance window from 08:00 to 09:30 UTC. BULKHEAD published the full Season 02 patch notes on Steam the day before, on 14 October. As of 26 October 2026 there is no newer patch than 0.2.0.

What's new in WARDOGS Season 2?

Season 2 adds four guns (TCX-SPR assault rifle, PP-19 Bizon SMG, Evo-3 Ultra LMG and M14 marksman rifle), the Molotov, four vehicles (Wolf-110, Wolf-110 with an M2 Browning, the T-72B3 tank and the Flakpanzer Gepard anti-air), three buildables (MG Nest, Large Shelter and Wooden Step) and a rain weather preset with server-synced thunder.

How do you unlock the Gepard in WARDOGS?

The Flakpanzer Gepard is on the Driver track at level 25 and costs $300k to unlock, then $14,000 per purchase at the vendor. Getting there is faster in Season 2: total XP for role level 25 dropped from 365,000 to 206,600. The T-72B3 is at Driver level 20 and the armed Wolf-110 at level 16.

What got nerfed in WARDOGS Season 2?

High-calibre base damage was cut (.308 by 25%, 7.62x54mmR by 20%, 7.62x39mm by 19%, .50 Cal by 16%). Level 3 and 4 armor reduce less damage (50% and 60%), and the Talon now reloads in 5 s instead of 2 s. Parachutes no longer open below about 10 m. The MGL-40, Little Bird miniguns unlock and spotting rewards were also nerfed.

Is leveling faster in WARDOGS Season 2?

Yes. Reaching role level 20 now takes 111,500 total XP instead of 250,000, which BULKHEAD says is less than half the Season 1 playtime. Level 10 needs 25,000 XP (was 35,000) and level 50 needs 1,150,000 (was 1,500,000). Many attachments also unlock earlier, and destroying buildables, C4 and IEDs now gives Assault XP.
