🎯 The core idea
Energy shield helmets are one of the most reliable things to craft in Path of Exile 2. The price comes from three energy shield prefixes, then critical chance, rarity, resistances and minion levels. Practise on cheap item level 82 tiaras, throw away failed bases early instead of rescuing them, use Fluxes instead of Divines for resistances, and only buy the Raven-Touched Shard and anoint when the helmet is worth it.
- free costs nothing
- cheap small cost
- setup needs preparation
- grind pays off slowly
- skip the thing to stop doing
What makes an energy shield helmet expensive
free This is the creator's own sales history: Ancestral Tiaras sold for 423, 425, 412, 421 and 698 Divine Orbs. On the right is the one that sold for 698: 599 energy shield, 26% quality, Raven-Touched with the Zarokh's Gift anoint, three energy shield prefixes, three high elemental resistances and mana. Unstoppablebtw, the video's creator, sold a helmet like this for about 2,500 Divine Orbs, and others for 400–1,500.
What buyers pay for, in his order of importance:
| Stat | Where | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Energy shield total | Prefixes | The main value. All three ES prefixes together give the most: hybrid "% increased ES + mana/life", plain "% increased ES", and flat "+ to maximum ES" |
| Critical hit chance | Suffix | One of the most wanted suffixes on caster helmets |
| Rarity of items found | Suffix (or prefix) | Valued by farmers; double rarity helmets exist but sell slower |
| +2 to Level of all Minion Skills | Suffix | Valuable for minion builds |
| Resistances | Suffix | Make a helmet sell, but rarely why it sells for a lot; T1 vs T2 changes the price less than you'd think |
The same principles work for armour, evasion and hybrid helmets. The video uses energy shield tiaras for every example.
Choosing the base: tiara type and item level
setup Base type. The creator's links go to two bases:
- Ancestral Tiara: 109 base energy shield, the best one.
- Kamasan Tiara: 103, the second best.
The 6-point gap gets multiplied by every % increased energy shield roll and by quality. On a finished helmet he estimates it at 6–7% of total energy shield, which changes the price noticeably. He doesn't recommend crafting on the tiaras below these two.
To compare bases yourself, open poe2db's modifier calculator for intelligence helmets. The third tab lists every base. Ignore the Runeforged and Runemastered versions, because they've already been processed at the Runeforge.
Item level. This decides which tiers can roll at all:
| Modifier | T1 (item level) | T2 (item level) |
|---|---|---|
| Fire / Cold / Lightning Resistance | +41–45% (82) | +36–40% (71) |
| Chaos Resistance | +24–27% (81) | +20–23% (68) |
| Hybrid % increased ES + maximum Mana or Life | 39–42% (78) | 33–38% (60) |
| % increased Energy Shield | 92–100% (65) | 80–91% (60) |
| + to maximum Energy Shield | +61–73 (60) | +48–60 (54) |
| Critical Hit Chance (suffix) | 30–34% (58) | 25–29% (44) |
| Rarity of Items found (suffix) | 15–18% (40) | 11–14% (24) |
(Tiers from poe2db's int helmet modifier list.)
- Item level 82: every elemental resistance can be T1. Three T1 resistances total at least 123%, against at least 108% for three T2. A buyer will pay extra for 135 total resistance over 120.
- Item level 78: the floor for the best prefixes, because the T1 hybrid prefix needs 78. Below that, the helmet can't reach top energy shield.
- His rule: item level 82 is preferred mid-league and 78 is the minimum. Don't expect T1 resistances on every helmet: that isn't realistic without a lot of currency.
Cheap method, step 1: Perfect Transmutation and Augmentation
cheap This part is for players without a big budget, and for learning. Buy several cheap normal bases (one rune socket) at item level 78–82 and open each one the same way: a Perfect Orb of Transmutation, then a Perfect Orb of Augmentation.
Why Perfect. Both orbs have a minimum modifier level of 70 (poe2db). On an int helmet, that leaves a very short list of possible results. Every mediocre energy shield tier is removed. The Greater versions (minimum level 44) also allow T2–T4 energy shield, flat life and mana, and low resistances. The creator calls those "a complete dump" at mid-league prices.
Every possible result, on an item level 82 tiara, with what to do:
| Roll | Type | Tier | Decision |
|---|---|---|---|
| (39–42)% increased ES + (33–39) maximum Mana | Prefix | T1 hybrid | Keep. The best opener. Mana hybrids also sell to mana stackers |
| (39–42)% increased ES + (42–49) maximum Life | Prefix | T1 hybrid | Set aside on cheap bases. The creator puts life rolls away ("if health drops, put it aside"). A life hybrid is acceptable only if everything else turns out perfect |
| +(451–550) to Accuracy Rating | Prefix | T1 | Drop. It takes a prefix slot that energy shield needs |
| +(41–45)% Fire / Cold / Lightning Resistance | Suffix | T1 | Keep. Only possible on item level 82+ |
| +(36–40)% Fire / Cold / Lightning Resistance | Suffix | T2 | Keep. "If at least a T2 resistance dropped, that's already a good hat" |
| +(24–27)% Chaos Resistance | Suffix | T1 (item level 81+) | Keep. Useful for mana builds, neutral for chaos-immunity builds |
| +(31–36) to Intelligence | Suffix | T1–T2 | Drop. It gives a little mana, but these bases sell on energy shield, not attributes |
The first orb gives one of these. Judge it right away: a resistance or the mana hybrid continues, accuracy or intelligence ends the base.
The Augmentation adds a second roll from the same list into the free side. After it:
- Good pair (resistance + ES/mana hybrid, or two good suffix and prefix rolls): continue to step 2.
- Life hybrid next to a resistance: set it aside as a backup. It can still become a cheap helmet, but it won't reach top energy shield.
- Any accuracy or intelligence roll: stop here. It can't be removed cheaply from a magic item.
Critical hit chance (best tier at modifier level 58), rarity (47) and +2 minion levels (41) can't roll from Perfect orbs at all. They only come later, from the Regal, Essence and Exalt steps. Don't wait for them during the opening.
Cheap method, step 2: making it rare and filling it
cheap There are three ways to turn the magic helmet rare:
- Essence of Opulence (Greater): a guaranteed 15–18% rarity suffix, T1 on poe2db. It's the creator's usual choice on cheap bases.
- Perfect Regal Orb (minimum modifier level 50): a random modifier. It's unpredictable, "a pig in a poke that can reward you". In this screenshot it gave a T2 flat energy shield roll next to T1 98% increased ES.
- Resistance essences, or essences that guarantee energy shield: not worth it. A resistance essence only gives T3, which wastes the item level 82 base, and the ES essences are for league start.
Filling the remaining slots. The creator's routine:
- Desecrate a prefix first. He uses a bone with Omen of Sinistral Necromancy, so the desecrated modifier goes into a prefix. Rolling three good prefixes at once is hard, while resistances land in suffixes much more often. So he stores a prefix this way, then adds the rest.
- Add two modifiers at once. Omen of Greater Exaltation plus an Exalted Orb. Perfect Exalts (minimum level 50) give much better odds. Greater Exalts (minimum 35) cost tens of times less, which is fine on a base worth a few Chaos.
- Read the result. If the item shows two hybrids, an unknown desecrated modifier and junk suffixes, "just forget about it".
When to reveal straight away. Revealing the desecrated modifier at the Well of Souls is good mid-league. At league start, the creator says a desecration costs 40–50 Exalts, more than the base itself, so don't do it on cheap helmets then.
skip Don't rescue a one-socket helmet. In the worked example, the Regal, two Greater Exalts and a desecration gave good energy shield with T1 hybrid and 35–37% resistance. At league start that's worth 5–7 Divines. A month in, his price-check overlay (PoE Overlay II) said about 469 Exalts, and remaking the two weak stats costs more than the helmet is worth.
Desecration and the Well of Souls
cheap Desecrated modifiers are added with bones and stay hidden until you reveal them at the Well of Souls. For a rare armour piece like a helmet, that's a Preserved Rib (poe2db), or an Ancient Rib for higher tiers. The Well offers three options and you keep one. The screenshot shows rarity, maximum life, or 40% hybrid ES with +43 life.
- Omen of Abyssal Echoes lets you reroll the three options once. Use it when one more good prefix would make the helmet.
- Reading tiers in the Well. The Well doesn't show tiers, so compare the number against the tier table. The hybrid ES prefix is T1 from 39%, so a 40% option is T1, near the bottom. For flat energy shield, 61 is the bottom of T1. % increased ES is T1 at 92%+. The creator double-checks on poe2db whenever he isn't sure.
- The ideal prefix line-up. Hybrid + % increased + flat energy shield, all T1. If the Well can't give you the missing one of those three, the helmet's energy shield is capped. The creator throws such helmets away. Several fails in a row is normal.
Weak helmets: Vaal Orb, Omen of Putrefaction and when to stop
grind Most cheap crafts fail. What you can still do with a failed helmet depends on one thing: has it already been desecrated?
The rule for Omen of Putrefaction. It changes your next desecration, so it only works on a helmet that has no desecrated modifier yet. The creator points this out on a helmet he had already desecrated: Putrefaction is off the table unless you first remove that modifier (Omen of Light + Orb of Annulment), which is rarely worth it on a junk helmet. Putrefaction also corrupts the item, so quality and rune sockets must be added before it. Afterwards nothing can be changed.
So decide before you desecrate a weak helmet: either keep it clean for Putrefaction, or desecrate it normally and accept that Putrefaction is gone.
Path A: weak but not yet desecrated (for example life + resistances). Life eats the energy shield, so try to improve the helmet first:
- Make it rare with a Regal Orb, or roll four new modifiers with an Orb of Alchemy, hoping for something like T1 critical chance.
- If it's still not worth crafting on, raise quality to 20% with Armourer's Scraps and add the rune socket. Do this now, because the item will be corrupted in the next step.
- Activate Omen of Putrefaction and desecrate with a Preserved Rib. Per poe2db, this replaces every modifier with up to six unrevealed desecrated modifiers and corrupts the item. The screenshot shows such a "six-mod" helmet.
- Reveal them one by one at the Well. Use Omen of Abyssal Echoes while the prefix line-up can still work. Stop paying for it once the prefixes are ruined, for example % increased + hybrid but no flat energy shield.
He compares it to a slot machine you can partly control. In the video it mostly misses. One helmet ends with critical chance and two resistances, worth about 2 Divines. The point is volume: "craft is distance". The method is good for practice and league start, not for profit mid-league.
Path B: junk helmet that's already desecrated. Putrefaction is no longer an option, so don't spend more on it: no Chaos, no removing the desecration, no expensive omens. Instead:
- Add quality and an Iron Rune, then price-check it.
- Corrupt it with a Vaal Orb and hope for a spirit enchant or an extra socket. Corruption can't make a junk helmet worse in any way that matters.
- Pin the tooltip (Alt + the paperclip icon) to compare before and after side by side.
His result was "nothing changed". He suggests listing it for about 200 Exalts, or just not bothering.
Minion helmet (energy shield, life, +2 minions, rarity).
- Order: he put rarity on with an essence so it couldn't spoil the minion suffix. On a two-socket base, he'd also lock the minion modifier with a Fracturing Orb.
- What happened: two Perfect Exalts gave T1, T1 and one junk modifier, and the desecrated prefix revealed nothing useful. On a one-socket base that's where he stops.
- Watch out: a desecrated or Vaaled minion helmet is worth less. Snipers and resellers buy untouched +minion helmets to Vaal them themselves for spirit. An untouched one sells for 3–4 Divines, a desecrated one for about 1 Divine (240 Exalts).
Premium bases: the deterministic route
setup The second half of the video is for a budget of 200–300 Divines. It uses premium bases with more than one rune socket. The creator calls them "exemplary" bases, which isn't an official item name.
Which one to buy. His late-September prices were about 22 Divines for an item level 81 Ancestral Tiara of this kind and 85–86 for item level 82. He recommends the item level 81 one. On it, only the resistances are capped at T2, while T1 critical chance and full T1 prefixes can all roll. Last league he crafted only item level 81 bases and still sold helmets for 1,000–1,500 Divines, because buyers barely look at T1 versus T2 resistances. The helmet in this screenshot is one of his: 655 energy shield, 30% quality, everything T1 except one resistance, with rarity, critical chance and the anoint.
The pattern on an expensive base:
- Perfect Transmutation, then Perfect Augmentation, aiming for two ideal modifiers.
- If rarity lands early, annul it. That can only happen with a non-Perfect Augmentation, because rarity's best prefix tier is modifier level 47. You can't then Regal (too risky on an expensive base) or use the rarity essence. Annul and augment again until the two modifiers are something like resistance + hybrid, or resistance + an energy shield prefix.
- Hybrids: keep the mana hybrid, not the life one. A good life hybrid is forgivable if everything else is perfect, because not everyone plays mana stacking.
- Essence of Opulence then makes it rare with guaranteed rarity. On a cheap base you can risk a Regal; here you don't.
Fix resistances with Fluxes instead of Divines
cheap On the premium base above, the resistance landed at 37%. A Divine Orb would re-roll every value on the helmet and could ruin the perfect energy shield rolls. The creator uses Expedition Fluxes instead, at about 1 Chaos Orb each:
- Blazing Flux: fire
- Chilling Flux: cold
- Crackling Flux: lightning
Per poe2db, a Blazing Flux "transforms all Cold and Lightning Resistance modifiers on an item to equivalent Fire Resistance modifiers". The others work the same way for their element. Each conversion lands on a new value inside the tier. Alternating two Flux types took the resistance from 37 to 38, 39 and then 40, the top of T2. On another helmet the first Flux hit 45%, the top of T1.
skip Never Flux with two elemental resistances on the item. One Flux turns both into the same element, and the helmet becomes unsellable. One elemental resistance plus chaos resistance is fine, because chaos resistance is a separate group that Fluxes don't touch. Fluxes are the only way to change resistance values separately from everything else. For everything else, the creator uses Divines.
Locking a stat and rebuilding bad prefixes
setup Insure the base. On the premium helmet, the creator stores a desecrated prefix (bone + Omen of Sinistral Necromancy). Then he uses a Fracturing Orb, which locks one random modifier on a rare item with at least four modifiers. Here it locked lightning resistance. The base costs about twice as much as a Fracturing Orb, so locking one good stat is cheap insurance before the risky steps.
Fill the open slots. He uses a Perfect Exalted Orb with Omen of Greater Exaltation. With one free prefix and one free suffix, it adds one to each. Then he reveals at the Well: 59 flat ES (just below T1) and a T2 mana hybrid. Neither is good enough.
The rebuild trick. This is how to replace bad prefixes when the suffixes are good, one of them from an essence:
- Remove the desecrated modifier. Omen of Light + Orb of Annulment removes only desecrated modifiers (poe2db).
- Socket Astrid's Creativity. This augment rune lets the item have one additional crafted modifier (poe2db). You need it because the essence rarity and the Mark of the Abyssal Lord are both crafted, and normally only one fits. It cost him about 5 Divines and can't be taken back out.
- Remove a prefix and add the Mark. Activate Omen of Sinistral Crystallisation and use an Essence of the Abyss. The essence removes a prefix and adds Mark of the Abyssal Lord. With two bad prefixes it's 50/50 which one goes; repeat if the wrong one goes.
- Desecrate the Mark and reveal. If it's bad, annul it away (Omen of Light) and repeat.
Then he adds two Exalts at once again. Doing it this way costs far less than the alternatives he rejects: two expensive omens plus a Perfect Chaos Orb (about 30 Divines).
Mark of the Abyssal Lord and the double rarity helmet
setup Essence of the Abyss removes a random modifier and adds Mark of the Abyssal Lord (poe2db). Desecrating an item with the Mark always replaces the Mark with a desecrated modifier of a higher tier. That's why the creator says the Mark "always gives an expensive bone": use the cheapest bone on it, because the Mark already raises the tier.
Result of the worked craft. Two prefixes, accuracy and T2 energy shield, were annulled again. A double Exalt then landed T1 % increased energy shield (92%+). The finished helmet has double rarity (prefix and suffix) and good energy shield. He listed it at 190 Divines, below similar helmets at 200–249. He spent about 50–60 Divines in total, including the 22-Divine base.
When double rarity is OK. Rarity in the prefix only works if the other two prefixes are % increased + flat energy shield. With two hybrids, or a hybrid plus one other prefix, there isn't enough energy shield left. Rarity has a high spawn weight, so it keeps getting in your way. Fracturing it is the worst outcome, but still better than nothing.
Quality, runes and Vaal Armourer's Infusers
cheap Basic finish. Upgrade the Iron Rune (Greater, then Perfect: +18% and +20% increased armour, evasion and energy shield) and raise quality to 20% with Armourer's Scraps.
Above 20%. The Vaal Armourer's Infuser raises quality past the maximum by up to 10%, with a chance to corrupt, and only works on items at maximum quality (poe2db). The screenshot shows the "already at maximum quality" messages that tell you it's ready.
The creator's rules:
- The first Infuser is always safe. The second is where the risk starts.
- If an Infuser corrupts, the energy shield still goes up, but the helmet can no longer get the Raven-Touched Shard, so no anoint.
- Before any Infuser, check whether a Divine Orb would improve the values.
- On a ~170–190 Divine helmet, don't add the Raven or the anoint, and don't desecrate it. The buyer will want to anoint it themselves, and a corrupted helmet blocks that.
Mana-stacker example. One helmet ended with perfect prefixes for mana stacking: hybrid ES/mana, % increased ES and flat ES, plus T1 mana. Its suffixes were rarity and chaos resistance.
- Mana used to scale with energy shield through a rune, but that rune now gives mana per armour instead, so energy shield helmets with mana only sell with both the flat and the % increased energy shield prefixes.
- Chaos resistance is wasted on chaos-immunity builds, but useful for mana builds that take damage through mana.
- One Infuser (22% quality) and two Perfect Iron Runes gave 514 energy shield. A Flux took the single elemental resistance to 40%.
- Similar mana helmets were listed at 150–160 Divines, all desecrated. An untouched one asks a bit more.
Final craft: fractured resistance, Whittling and 600+ energy shield
setup The last helmet in the video is on an item level 82 base, so T1 resistances are possible.
- Open it. Perfect Transmutation, then augmentations until there's a T1 resistance with % increased ES. Then add the rarity essence and Divine until the % increased roll reaches 100. That roll has only nine possible values (92–100), so the cap is cheap to reach. With a flat energy shield roll he wouldn't chase the maximum. The resistance landed at 45%, the T1 maximum.
- Fracture the resistance. Bone into the prefix (Omen of Sinistral Necromancy), then the Fracturing Orb. It fractured the 45% resistance, which "is why it was worth rolling the Fluxes first".
- Craft around the fracture. The creator's order of work:
| Fractured modifier is in… | Finish first | Then |
|---|---|---|
| Suffix | The other suffixes (Chaos and Exalt) | Prefixes |
| Prefix | The other prefixes (Exalts) | Suffixes. The third suffix comes from desecration |
His reasoning: two more good suffixes are easier than three good prefixes without a fracture.
- Cheap loop. Orb of Annulment and Exalts, or Chaos to roll back, again and again. If something valuable gets annulled, "everything rolls back to the beginning" and that's fine, because "hats are very easy to craft". He only stays attached to suffixes like T1 critical chance with two perfect resistances.
- Omen of Whittling, rarely. With Whittling, the next Chaos Orb removes the lowest-level modifier (poe2db). His two resistances had modifier levels 71 and 82, so they acted as "blockers": the Chaos Orb could only hit the weak prefix. Each click cost about 15 Divines. It took four tries (about 60 Divines) to land T1 energy shield. He calls this an extreme case. Normally, annulling and rolling back is cheaper than any purple omen.
- Last prefix. Ancient Rib + Omen of Abyssal Echoes, revealing until the top flat energy shield shows. 61 is the T1 floor.
- Divine to 600+. With full T1 prefixes on an Ancestral Tiara, he aims for at least 600 energy shield, preferably 605+. The maximum he expects is about 614–616. This one stopped at 602 (screenshot). No Fluxes here, because two elemental resistances are open.
Raven-Touched Shard and the Zarokh's Gift anoint
setup Raven-Touched Shard. To anoint a helmet you first socket a Raven-Touched Shard into an empty augment socket. Per poe2db, it's helmet-only and "cannot be retrieved or replaced". In the video it cost 196 Divines. Ctrl-click the listing to see whether someone is selling cheaper; there was one at 193.
Zarokh's Gift. The anoint the creator uses is Zarokh's Gift, made from one each of Potent Liquid Melancholy, Potent Liquid Ferocity and Potent Liquid Contempt. It gives a Sinister Jewel Socket (poe2db), which is why he calls it the most universal anoint. poe2.ninja shows which anoints builds actually use.
- Where: at the mirror by the Withered Willow, a location in the Atlas. From the starting area, go left, open it, then Ctrl-click to travel through the big location.
- Order: he places the oils as Melancholy, Ferocity, Contempt.
- Requirement: the helmet must not be corrupted.
Only after the anoint use Infusers more aggressively. His third Infuser corrupted the helmet, but it was already anointed, so that cost nothing important.
The trade-off. The shard and oils lock about 200 Divines into the item until it sells. Without them this helmet was worth about 150–200 Divines. With them, he listed it at 690, because a similar one sold for 698. He calls it freezing funds, not a dead investment, but only worth it when the prefixes and suffixes justify it.
Price-checking and selling
free This screenshot is the price check for the 514 energy shield mana helmet from the quality section. PoE Overlay II estimates it at about 65 Divines (range 31–136), while similar Ancestral Tiaras on trade are listed from 200 to 798. Overlay estimates are a starting point, not the price. His price-checking routine:
- Search by the stats that drive value: energy shield total, rarity, critical chance, resistances. Then lower each value slightly. A helmet only 1% lower can be worth far less than you expect, so check the price at "your stats minus a bit".
- Compare like with like. Untouched helmets are worth more than desecrated ones. Anointed versus not anointed is a different price band. Tick the filter for items that can still be modified.
- Three resistances sell better than two on helmets, in his experience.
- Leave the finishing to the buyer. Don't socket minion soul cores or other build-specific items. Sell untouched helmets when you can.
- Expect inflation. Prices are a late-September 2026 snapshot and move every week.
Tools he mentions: poe2db's modifier calculator (tiers and bases), poe.ninja (what builds wear, so what to craft), and PoE Overlay II (quick price estimates).
How this guide was fact-checked
The source. This guide is based on Unstoppablebtw's Russian-language video "How to craft helmets in Path of Exile 2", uploaded on 28 September 2026, about a month into the league. poe2db currently lists patch 0.5.5. The guide was written from YouTube's English translation of the Russian captions. That translation garbled item names, so each one was matched to its official English name through poe2db's Russian and English pages:
- "melts" are Blazing, Chilling and Crackling Flux
- "sharpening" is Omen of Whittling
- "krapt" is the Vaal Orb
- "selective Astrit" is Astrid's Creativity
Confirmed on poe2db:
- the base energy shield of both tiaras
- every tier and item level in the tables
- the minimum modifier levels of Perfect and Greater Transmutation, Perfect Regal, and Perfect and Greater Exalted Orbs
- the effects of the Omens of Putrefaction, Abyssal Echoes, Light, Sinistral Crystallisation, Sinistral Necromancy, Greater Exaltation and Whittling
- the effects of the Fracturing Orb, Perfect Chaos Orb, Essence of the Abyss, Mark of the Abyssal Lord, Greater Essence of Opulence, the Fluxes, Astrid's Creativity, Iron Runes, Raven-Touched Shard and Vaal Armourer's Infuser
- the Zarokh's Gift recipe and its Sinister Jewel Socket
From the video only:
- every price and cost in Divines
- the "first Infuser is safe" rule
- the "exemplary" naming
- the 614–616 maximum energy shield estimate
- the ~1 Chaos Flux price and the ~15 Divine Whittling click
- the creator's views on which stats sell
Correction to the translation: the captions say a Flux turns "all resistances" into its element. poe2db is more exact: it converts only the other elemental resistances. Chaos resistance is not affected.
What this guide doesn't answer
- Armour, evasion and hybrid helmets: same logic, different modifier pools. The video only crafts energy shield tiaras.
- A full +2 minion helmet craft: the video shows minion helmets but doesn't finish a premium one.
- Every branch of the fracture and Mark loops: the creator says covering all cases would take a five-hour video, and shows those on his streams.
- Current prices: use the trade site. All Divine figures here are from late September 2026.
- The 11 December release: the creator expects crafting to change at the full release. Re-check tiers and currencies then.
Frequently asked
What is the best base for an energy shield helmet in PoE2?
The Ancestral Tiara, with 109 base energy shield, is the best intelligence helmet base; the Kamasan Tiara (103) is the cheaper runner-up. Buy item level 82 or higher if you want T1 elemental resistances (+41-45%), or at least item level 78 so the T1 hybrid energy shield prefix can roll.
Why use a Perfect Orb of Transmutation instead of a normal one on PoE2 helmets?
A Perfect Orb of Transmutation has a minimum modifier level of 70, so on a helmet it can only roll high tiers such as T1 or T2 elemental resistances, the T1 hybrid energy shield prefix or T1 chaos resistance. A Greater Orb of Transmutation only filters to modifier level 44, which still allows mediocre tiers.
How do you fix a low resistance roll on a PoE2 helmet without a Divine Orb?
Use Expedition Fluxes. Blazing, Chilling and Crackling Flux convert the other elemental resistance modifiers into their own element, and each conversion lands on a new value, so alternating two Flux types re-rolls a single resistance cheaply. Only do it when the helmet has exactly one elemental resistance, or every resistance becomes the same element.
What does Omen of Putrefaction do in PoE2?
With Omen of Putrefaction active, your next desecration replaces every modifier on the item with up to six unrevealed desecrated modifiers and corrupts the item. It is a last-resort gamble for a helmet that is otherwise worthless, so add quality and a rune socket before using it.
How do you anoint a helmet in Path of Exile 2?
Socket a Raven-Touched Shard into an empty augment socket on the helmet first; it can't be removed afterwards. Then anoint it with three Liquid Emotions. Zarokh's Gift, made with Potent Liquid Melancholy, Potent Liquid Ferocity and Potent Liquid Contempt, gives a Sinister Jewel Socket and is the most universal choice.
