Core Idea

This one screen is the whole strategy: four cheap scarabs plus a City Square map, run over and over for speed.

"Destructive Play" is an aggressive farming style built around quickly power-clearing Syndicate safehouses: the player deliberately provokes a collision of several Syndicate members at once, grabs their loot, and moves on without wasting time carefully "growing" ranks. Combined with the right set of maps and Awakening Scarabs, this strategy provides a steady stream of currency per hour of farming. Master T's guide shows a full, unedited map clear in detail, explains the logic behind choosing Syndicate targets, and gives concrete pricing benchmarks for the loot.

1. Introduction

It shows the payoff up front: this strat drops liquid currency you can sell instantly rather than niche loot.

In the video, Master T briefly introduces the build and the purpose of the release — showing how an average player without a huge budget can earn currency through aggressive farming of Syndicate safehouses. The author immediately warns that most of the video is an unedited live map clear, so viewers see real decisions rather than just a summary.

Checklist:

  • Make sure your character can survive fighting several Syndicate members at once
  • Prepare several maps with a Syndicate/Betrayal bonus before farming
  • Pause the video at the description marker — it contains links to the Atlas Tree and PoB

2. Maps and Scarab Setup

Shows exactly how to search and buy the 20 Conqueror maps that seed the whole rotation.

The Currency Exchange is the fastest way to assemble the scarab stack, and the ratio shows how cheap the entry cost really is.

You need full sets of all four Conquerors, and Blessed Orbs are what reroll which Conqueror each map holds.

Master T shows his own hideout and explains the basic setup: maps are chosen to farm the Syndicate and Betrayal encounters, while Awakening Scarabs are added to the Map Device to increase the chance of finding valuable safehouses and improve drop quality. The author stresses that the combination of "the right maps + the right scarabs" determines how profitable the session will be.

Checklist:

  • Add Awakening Scarabs to the Map Device along with the basic Syndicate set
  • Keep several stacks of the same map type ready for continuous farming
  • Check your hideout devices (Stash, Crafting Bench, Map Device) — everything should be within reach for quick actions between maps

3. Atlas and Strategy Explanation

This is the screenshot the guide tells you to copy; everything downstream depends on this exact allocation.

Ore quietly stacks up during every map and funds the large Kingsmarch shipments later in the guide.

This is why the Mercenaries of Trarthan half of the tree pays: dead mercs hand over their backpack loot.

Destructive Play is the engine of the strategy, adding the bosses that drop the chisels and Conqueror maps.

Here the author explains the logic behind the Atlas setup: which Atlas Tree nodes boost the appearance of Syndicate safehouses and Betrayal content, and how to balance pure map farming with additional mechanics. Links to the specific atlas tree and the full build guide are provided in the video description. The key idea is not to spread yourself across every mechanic at once, but to focus the atlas on a single profitable niche.

Checklist:

  • Copy the atlas tree from the video description (poeplanner) as a starting point
  • Prioritize nodes that boost Syndicate/Betrayal rather than random mechanics
  • Keep a separate set of maps in reserve if the strategy requires specific maps

4. Full Uncut Farming Session

Always open the merc panel before killing: the pocket contents are where a large share of the profit comes from.

Medallions are the single biggest Syndicate payout and the reason the Betrayal nodes stay on the tree.

Alching and exalting the invitation before running it is a free multiplier on the reward drops.

This is the longest section of the video — Master T clears maps without editing, showing the real pace of farming: how quickly he finds safehouses, in what order he attacks several Syndicate members at once, and how he avoids dangerous moments in combat. Syndicate encounters found directly in maps are also shown — that's where most of the valuable loot is hidden.

Checklist:

  • Watch how the author determines the priority target among several Syndicate members in one fight
  • Pay attention to the order of actions: clear threats first, then collect loot
  • Note the moments when the author deliberately ignores loot for the sake of speed — that's also part of the strategy

5. Loot: How to Evaluate and Sell It

Price-check each map type first so you can dump the whole stack at a price that actually sells.

The full accounting: 2210 chaos of costs against the haul, landing at 18.69 divine orbs of pure profit.

Priced correctly, the map drops liquidate almost instantly, which is what makes the strat low-effort to cash out.

Selecting the stash tabs in a bulk pricing tool gives you the session total in seconds instead of item-by-item.

Master T goes through the loot accumulated during the session and shows how to quickly determine an item's value: what to check first (unique items, scarabs, fragments), where to check current prices, and how to group lots for selling on trade sites. Special attention is given to small but high-volume income sources that beginners often overlook.

Checklist:

  • Check the price of unique items and scarabs before vendoring them
  • Group similar lots (e.g., fragments or maps) for faster selling
  • Don't ignore small but high-volume income sources — they add up to a significant amount per session

6. Additional Important Things to Know

Shows what the accumulated ore actually converts into once you have enough dust to send a large shipment.

Important update (from the author's pinned comment): after the video was released, the developers buffed this strategy — Wild mercenaries no longer turn into NPCs if you kill the leading mercenary, so now you can kill all mercenaries at once without focusing on allies first. Awakening Scarabs became even more profitable, since cutter prices rose sharply. The author recommends focusing on specific Syndicate members: "It that fled" in the Transportation branch (for Foulborn unique items), Guff in Transportation (raw currency, sometimes divines), and Leo and Vorici in Intervention (for Ultimatum and Harvest scarabs).

Manor Foyer and Gambling District are the only two anomalies worth stopping for, and this is why.

Besides the main update, the author gives a few practical tips: how to avoid wasting time on unprofitable fights, which items are worth dusting into essences, and why it's important to balance map-clear speed against how thoroughly you clear the Syndicate.

Checklist:

  • Update your understanding of the Wild mercenary mechanic — they can now be killed without focusing on allies first
  • Prioritize "It that fled", Guff, Leo, and Vorici among Syndicate members
  • Check current Awakening Scarab prices before planning a session

7. Pricing WITHOUT Awakening Scarabs

This is the cost being removed, and it is almost exactly what the scarab returns in chisels.

Dropping the Awakening scarab keeps the same hourly rate at a fraction of the starting investment.

A separate section for those who haven't yet stocked up on enough Awakening Scarabs: the author explains how the strategy remains profitable even with Bad Scarabs, just at a somewhat lower hourly rate, and how to adjust map selection to compensate for the lack of premium bonuses.

Checklist:

  • Compare the strategy's profitability with and without Awakening Scarabs before investing in expensive scarabs
  • Without Awakening Scarabs, compensate by choosing maps with a natural Syndicate bonus
  • Don't expect premium results with Bad Scarabs — assess your income realistically

8. Summary and Outro

The loop in one image: enter, clear at speed, leave, repeat.

At the end, Master T summarizes the strategy's hourly profit, recaps the key points (priority Syndicate targets, the right set of maps and scarabs, discipline in evaluating loot), and gives advice for those who want to adapt the strategy to their own budget and character level.

Checklist:

  • Compare your hourly profit to the author's benchmarks
  • Adapt the strategy's budget to your own character's level
  • Revisit the full farming session section if you need to clarify any part of the run

Frequently asked

How much currency per hour does Syndicate Destructive Play farming actually make?

In the recorded run, 13 maps in roughly 30 to 40 minutes returned 30 divine and 119 chaos against 2,210 chaos of costs, leaving 3,459 chaos or about 18.6 divine, which extrapolates to near 37 divine an hour at a 185 chaos divine. Strip out the lucky Syndicate medallion and a Bloodlines scarab and it is still 13.5 divine, around 27 an hour. He also dropped zero conqueror exalts that session.

Is the Awakening scarab worth using in this strat?

No. At about 93 chaos each, 20 of them cost 1,860 chaos, and the creator's own tally showed they barely break even, so he cut a mid-video correction in telling viewers to skip them. Dropping the scarab also removes the need to hunt awakened bosses, so maps run faster. Temporal Astrolabes at roughly 100 chaos each are optional too; he suspected they boosted conqueror exalt drops, then tested and got none.

Why am I only making 5 divine an hour running this map strat?

Almost always map speed. The target pace is 20 maps in 30 minutes, about a minute and a half each, and most of the loss comes from stopping for mechanics your Atlas tree and scarabs are not juicing, like a Harvest worth 5 chaos. Do still kill trash monsters, though: Maven only spawns her extra bosses, up to a maximum of three, if you clear enough of the map.

Should you kill the main mercenary or his allies first?

Allies first, if your build can focus them. Once the main mercenary dies, the vile mercenaries turn into NPCs you can no longer attack and their loot is gone. Each carries a full rucksack, drops one untaken item on death, and has a 10 percent chance to drop everything. If your AoE makes single-targeting impossible, Charan's Scarab of Infamy is still worth running, because infamous mercs have better pockets regardless.

Is Syndicate still worth farming after the allflame nerf?

Yes, though it is weaker than it was. Allflames no longer drop, but Syndicate medallions sit near four to five divine and safehouses still pay out scarabs, and an encounter takes under 10 seconds once you know the interrogate flow. The caveat: the creator farmed It That Fled in every map all league chasing the Mageblood card and found none, and says SSF groups report the same, with no patch note explaining it.
