## 🎯 The core idea

> Where you hit a WARDOGS vehicle matters more than what you hit it with. One RPG into the Ural's fuel tank does what three into the cab do, two rockets into an SPH-2's rear beat five anywhere else, and a Humvee or L2A6 shrugs off hits on its armored face. Tyres, tracks and rotors soak damage without killing anything. Season 02 left these weak points alone but changed what each kill pays.

## How the weak point tests were run

![WARDOGS player aiming an RPG-7 at the front of a parked Dune Buggy during a vehicle weak point test](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/10/final_0025_pV2Pnee.webp)

This guide is built on Antpile's 32-minute test video, *I tested Wardogs vehicles for weak points, so you don't have to* (uploaded 21 September 2026). He parks each vehicle and shoots it from different angles, mostly with the cheap RPG-7, the standard anti-tank launcher. He repeats shots to check the damage, repairs between tests and calls out the damage percentage after each hit. He also tries a few hits with the MAAWS, C4 on some vehicles and full rifle magazines against a Little Bird.

The video was recorded in Season 01. Season 02 (Update 0.2.0, live 15 October 2026) doesn't mention vehicle armor, hit zones or fuel tanks anywhere in its patch notes, so the WARDOGS vehicle weak points below should still apply. What did change is pay, prices, unlock levels and some calibres. Each section says where that matters, and there's a summary of Season 02 changes near the end. Hit counts are the creator's results on a stationary, undefended vehicle at close range. In a real fight, expect to need one more.

Antpile also says some results were "wonky": the same shot sometimes did full damage and sometimes didn't. Where that happened, this guide says so.

## Every vehicle at a glance: health, hits and kill pay

![Ural Defender M249 armored truck seen from behind with its name in the WARDOGS vehicle HUD](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/10/final_0860_rZWTooT.webp)

free The table puts the video's RPG-7 counts next to the health values in the WARDOGS wiki's vehicle table and the Season 02 destroy rewards from the official patch notes. The wiki gives one health number per vehicle, but the video shows that hit location changes the damage a lot. The Ural has less health than the L2A6, yet a well-placed rocket kills a Ural outright and does almost nothing to the tank's front.

| Vehicle | Wiki health | RPG-7 hits in the video | Where to hit | Destroyed pays (Season 02) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bobcat | 200 | Not tested (assumed 1) | Anywhere | $100 |
| Dune Buggy | 400 | 1 | Anywhere but the tires | $300 |
| Kodiak | 400 | 1 | Anywhere but the tires | $500, Pickup $600, M249 $3,400 |
| Humvee | 500 | 2 front or sides, about 4–5 rear (estimate) | Grille or sides | $600, M249 $4,250, Minigun $5,000 |
| Ural | 700 | 3 to cab or bed, 1 to the fuel tank | Fuel tank between cab and bed | $1,000 |
| Ural Defender | 700 | 2 to the armored fuel tank | Same fuel tank, through the plate | $3,600, M249 $4,750 |
| SPH-2 | 650 | 2 rear, about 5 elsewhere | Rear | $8,000 |
| L2A6 | 800 | 3 rear, 5 sides, front not worth testing | Rear, then the back half of the side | $11,000 |
| Little Bird | 400 | 1 anywhere on the body | Body, not the rotors | AH-6M $6,000, AH-6R $9,400 |

The Havoc, the Z20 Lakota and the three Season 02 vehicles (T-72B3, Flakpanzer Gepard and Wolf-110) aren't in the video. For them, see the section on what is still untested.

## Dune Buggy, Kodiak and Bobcat: anywhere but the tires

![Close-up of a WARDOGS Dune Buggy tire, the spot that soaks rocket damage without killing the buggy](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/10/final_0150_3X98fQn.webp)

free The light vehicles have no armor worth aiming around. One RPG to the front, side, rear or even high on the seats destroyed the Dune Buggy every time except once. In that one case most of the damage went into a tire, and a deliberate tire shot confirmed it: the tire took the hit and the buggy only got splash damage, about 60%. The Kodiak died to a single rocket in its one test. Antpile skips the Bobcat and assumes any hit kills it. The wiki gives it 200 health, half the buggy's, which fits.

skip Rockets into tires. That rule holds for every wheeled vehicle in the video. A shot tire stops a vehicle, but the damage stays in the tire and doesn't reach the vehicle's main health. If you only want a vehicle stopped, shoot the tires with your rifle and save the rocket. Antpile's comparison for C4: two charges kill a Kodiak, which shows how weak C4 is against vehicles compared with a rocket.

## Humvee: hit the grille or sides, never the rear

![WARDOGS Humvee seen from the front grille, the spot where an RPG does about 40 percent damage](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/10/final_0230_tTCsUmP.webp)

cheap The Humvee is the one vehicle where Antpile found no real weak spot. A rocket to the grille or either side does about 40%, so two RPGs set it on fire and the crew has to bail before it blows. The rear is the exception: two rear hits barely damaged it and didn't make it smoke, so he estimates four or five rockets from behind. Hold your shot until it turns side-on or comes towards you.

That gives Humvee crews a simple defence. Reverse into the position you plan to hold, such as a hilltop overwatch or the edge of a FOB or town, with the gunner facing back. Stop, or move slowly, so the gunner can shoot accurately. Any rocket then hits the armored rear, and the creator adds that the rear also protects the driver from armor-piercing rounds that would go through the windscreen from the front.

Season 02 reworked Humvee handling: it's less stiff over rough ground, slower to reach top speed and better at climbing. The armor isn't mentioned in the patch notes. The plain Humvee now pays only $600 when destroyed, against $4,250 for the M249 version and $5,000 for the Minigun version, so a rocket is better spent on an armed one.

## Ural fuel tank: the one-rocket kill

![WARDOGS player aiming an RPG at the side of a Ural truck where the fuel tank sits between cab and cargo bed](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/10/final_0600_XI2epCF.webp)

setup This is the find the video is known for. The Ural is tougher than it looks. Rockets into the cab or the cargo bed do about a third of its health each, so it takes three. But behind the cab, in the gap before the bed, a large rectangular fuel tank sits on **the driver's side only**; the other side has none. One RPG into that tank destroyed a full-health Ural on camera, more than once.

It's not perfectly reliable. Several shots at the same spot did normal damage, and Antpile couldn't work out why. His best guess is that hits too far back count as hitting the bed rather than the tank, so aim at the middle of the tank, not its back edge. C4 placed on the tank was even less consistent: sometimes about half the Ural's health, sometimes about 20%, which is what C4 does anywhere else. It never killed one in a single charge, and he puts a Ural at three or four C4.

The hard part is hitting the tank on a truck driving at full speed. Antpile's idea, which he says he hadn't tested yet, is to make the truck stop. Build hedgehogs (tank traps) across a bridge or a choke point on a supply route. They don't need a FOB and a small hammer can build them. Then wait beside the road on the side the driver will pass. When the Ural slows down or stops at the barrier, that's your shot. He puts a hedgehog at 19 build supplies, but build-menu footage in another WARDOGS creator's video shows 14, so check in game. Season 02 also limits tank traps to "a defined set of surfaces", so test your bridge before relying on it.

Season 02 cut the reward for a destroyed default Ural from $2,500 to $1,000. One $1,800 rocket now barely pays for itself on a plain Ural. The armored variants below pay much more.

## Ural Defender: the armor plate over the tank

![Armor plate covering the fuel tank on the WARDOGS Ural Defender truck](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/10/final_0810.webp)

cheap The armored Ural (the HUD names it **Ural Defender [M249]**) adds a steel plate over the same fuel tank. A rocket there still does extra damage, clearly more than the third a cab hit does on the plain Ural, but it doesn't one-shot. Two rockets on the plate kill it in the video. Shots to the cab do less than a third, so elsewhere it takes more than three. The wiki lists the same 700 health for both trucks, which suggests the plating changes how much damage gets through rather than adding health.

One MAAWS round into the tank hit much harder than an RPG and left the truck disabled but not destroyed. Antpile also says AP rifle rounds into the Ural's fuel tank do noticeably more than FMJ, one of the few targets where he thinks AP is worth it. Season 02 made the Defender a much better target: it pays $3,600, or $4,750 for the M249 version, against $1,000 for a plain Ural.

## SPH-2 artillery: two rockets to the rear

![WARDOGS SPH-2 self-propelled artillery smoking after two rockets to the rear](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/10/final_1030_9WiQIrx.webp)

cheap The SPH-2 self-propelled gun (named in the video's HUD) is soft from behind. Two RPGs to the rear destroy it, and so do **two C4 charges on the back**, which Antpile calls surprising given how weak C4 usually is. Anywhere else takes about five rockets. Oddly, a hit to the front did more damage than the sides, which he points out is the opposite of what you'd expect from a tank.

Its fuel tank is on the side, where the pipes run along the hull. A hit there starts a fuel leak you can hear. A small leak isn't urgent, but a bad one forces the driver to get out and repair it soon or run dry. Season 02 moved the SPH-2 to Driver level 31 ($350k unlock, down from WARDOG level 90) and cut its destroyed reward from $14,000 to $8,000. It's still one of the best-paying ground targets, and C4 on Assault (level 4 since Season 02) is enough to kill it if you get behind it.

## L2A6: three rockets to the rear

![WARDOGS L2A6 tank smoking after RPG hits to its rear engine deck](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/10/final_1095.webp)

setup The L2A6 is the toughest vehicle in the video, and the answer to how to destroy tanks in WARDOGS is the same as in most games: get behind it. Two RPGs to the rear stopped the engine and left it dead in the water but not destroyed. The third finished it, so three to the back is the number. Rear hits also damage the fuel tank more than side hits, starting a leak the crew has to repair.

Antpile has heard that ordinary hand grenades can break a tank's tracks, but he only passes that on as a rumour and doesn't test it. What he does show is that a rocket into the tracks can blow them off. That stops the tank and takes time to repair, but does little to its main health. Breaking the tracks and then moving round to the rear is the realistic way to kill one.

The L2A6 now costs $22,000 to buy (up from $14,000) and pays $11,000 when destroyed (down from $14,000). The patch notes don't mention any change to its armor.

## Shooting an L2A6 from the side or front

![Side armor and vent on the back half of a WARDOGS L2A6 tank hull](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/10/final_1290_w62dkh7.webp)

skip Shooting the front. The L2A6 has extra armor on the front, and Antpile says rockets there are wasted until that armor is broken, so he didn't even finish testing it. You'd need several players firing at once for it to be worth it.

When you can't get behind the tank, aim at the **back half of the side**, near the vent and behind the armor plates on the front of the side skirts. Hits on those front plates seem to count as front armor. Five rockets on the sides destroyed it: four broke the fuel tank and left it in serious trouble, the fifth forced the crew out. Hatches, the small grate and a storage box with a handle gave no bonus damage in his tests. He assumes the turret is a poor target too but didn't test it.

The Season 02 T-72B3 (Driver level 20, $250k unlock, $16,000 to buy) is a different tank. The patch notes only say it's slower than the L2A6, cheaper and slightly more fuel-efficient. Don't assume the L2A6's numbers carry over.

## Little Bird: rifles are enough

![Little Bird AH-6M minigun helicopter parked on a road in WARDOGS before a rifle damage test](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/10/final_1640_x1dMCtm.webp)

free Any RPG hit kills a Little Bird, wherever it lands. The more useful result is that you don't need one. With no attachments and a lot of recoil, one 60-round magazine of plain FMJ took about 40–50% off a parked AH-6M [Miniguns]. A 30-round magazine does about 30% if every round hits, closer to 20% in practice. So two players with 60-round magazines, or three or four with 30-round ones, can bring it down in one reload, and an M249 with the 200-round box is, in his words, almost a portable CIWS. Antpile reckons a Little Bird is about as tough as a player in level 2 armor.

Season 02 cut the base damage of four calibres: .308 by 25%, 7.62x54mmR by 20%, 7.62x39mm by 19% and .50 Cal by 16%. 5.56 and 5.45 weren't cut. The notes don't say whether damage to vehicles scales the same way, so with a gun in one of the cut calibres, treat the video's percentages as the best case. The M249 now unlocks at Support level 20 ($150k). Our [WARDOGS helicopter guide](/guides/wardogs-helicopter) covers the same fight from the pilot's seat.

## Rotors and tail booms waste your ammo

![Rifle aimed at the tail rotor of a WARDOGS Little Bird helicopter](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/10/final_1530_nrMEAYh.webp)

skip Aiming at the tail rotor. Hits there are split between the rotor and the helicopter, and damage to the rotor itself doesn't reach the airframe, just like tires on a car. If you manage to shoot the rotor off, the pilot is finished, but the rotor is surprisingly hard to destroy with bullets. If you don't, every round was wasted and he flies off to repair. The same goes for the main rotor on top. Put your rounds into the body.

Season 02 made helicopter cockpit glass work both ways. Shooting out through it now damages the helicopter like incoming fire, so passengers can't fire through the glass without hurting their own aircraft.

## FMJ, AP or HP against vehicles

![WARDOGS firing range dummy in level 2 armor showing a 17.17 damage number from a rifle hit](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/10/final_1830_7nwq2TN.webp)

cheap Hollow points (HP) are useless here: a full magazine does maybe 10% to a Little Bird. FMJ is the round to carry. On a target dummy in level 2 armor, Antpile's FMJ and AP hits did nearly the same damage, within a fraction of a point. AP is worse on arm and leg hits, so he only rates it from level 3 armor up, and against vehicles only for shooting heavier targets like the Ural's fuel tank. That's his conclusion from Season 01 numbers, not an official rule. Season 02 lowered level 3 armor's damage reduction from 55% to 50% and level 4's from 65% to 60%, and evened out torso damage, so the dummy numbers in the video are out of date even if the conclusion still holds.

## What Season 02 changed for anti-vehicle play

![Front armor of a WARDOGS L2A6 tank hull next to a repair drill](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/10/final_1260_awlfjAo.webp)

grind Weak points weren't touched, but plenty of Season 02 changes affect how you hunt vehicles. Everything below comes from the official Update 0.2.0 patch notes. The [WARDOGS Season 2 guide](/guides/wardogs-season-2) covers the rest.

| Change | Season 01 (video) | Season 02 |
|---|---|---|
| Ural destroyed | $2,500 | $1,000 (Defender $3,600, Defender M249 $4,750) |
| Z20 Lakota destroyed | $3,700 | $1,500 (Miniguns $7,500) |
| Humvee / Kodiak destroyed | $1,500 / $1,250 | $600 / $500 default, armed variants far more |
| L2A6 / SPH-2 destroyed | $14,000 each | $11,000 / $8,000 |
| RPG-7 / MAAWS price | $2,000 / $2,600 | $1,800 / $2,400 |
| MAAWS unlock | Support 20, $125k | Support 18, $100k |
| C4 + detonator | Support level 2 | Assault level 4 |
| New targets | none | T-72B3 (Driver 20, pays $8,000), Gepard (Driver 25, pays $7,000), Wolf-110 |

Armed variants now give 1.5x the XP of the default version, and attack vehicles pay more the more kills they have. Spotting now pays according to the vehicle's value, so a spotted tank pays more than a spotted quad. Explosives and placeables can't be used from enclosed vehicle seats any more, and tracked vehicles are heavier and less bouncy in the air. C4 and IED kills now give Assault XP, which our [WARDOGS assault guide](/guides/wardogs-assault) covers.

What's still untested: the video says outright that Antpile hadn't tested the Havoc yet, and the Z20 Lakota isn't tested either. The three Season 02 vehicles came out after the video. The wiki gives the Gepard 800 health, the same as the L2A6, and has no entry for the T-72B3, so treat both as heavy armor and look for the rear and the fuel tank until someone tests them properly. If you're the one driving a tank rather than shooting at one, a separate WARDOGS tank guide is planned.

## How this guide was fact-checked

- **Official Season 02 patch notes (14 October 2026):** every destroy reward, the RPG-7, MAAWS and L2A6 prices, the MAAWS, M249, T-72B3, Gepard and SPH-2 unlocks, C4 moving to Assault level 4, the calibre cuts, armor damage reduction, cockpit glass, Humvee handling, tracked-vehicle weight, tank-trap placement and the ban on explosives from enclosed seats. The notes contain nothing on vehicle armor, hit zones or fuel tanks, so the video's weak points are treated as still valid.
- **WARDOGS wiki (Fandom) vehicle table:** the health values in the table and the fact that the Ural and Ural Defender share 700 health. Its prices are still from Season 01, so this guide uses the patch notes for prices instead.
- **The video, shown on screen:** each hit count, damage percentage, fuel-tank location, the vehicle names (SPH-2, L2A6 and Ural Defender [M249] are read off the HUD) and the rifle-versus-Little-Bird results. The captions call the MAAWS "the MOS" and the Ural "the Eural".
- **Attributed to the creator, not confirmed:** the Bobcat one-shot (not tested), the Humvee's 4–5 rear rockets (an estimate), grenades breaking tracks (a rumour), AP doing more to the Ural fuel tank, the Little Bird being about as tough as level 2 armor, and the hedgehog cost of 19 (another creator's build menu shows 14).
- **What changed since the video (Season 01):** a destroyed Ural now pays $1,000 instead of $2,500 and a Lakota $1,500 instead of $3,700. The RPG-7 costs $1,800 and the MAAWS $2,400. C4 is an Assault item at level 4 now. The L2A6 costs $22,000 to buy. Tank traps can't be placed on every surface. Rounds in .308, 7.62x54mmR, 7.62x39mm and .50 Cal do less base damage, so the video's rifle percentages for those calibres are best-case figures. Other creators count hits differently (one source puts a Humvee at three rockets), because hit location and splash change the result. These numbers are a guide, not a guarantee.

## What this guide doesn't answer

- **How to drive or fight in a tank.** That's the planned tank guide; this page is only about destroying them.
- **How C4 and IEDs work.** Charges, detonators and breaching belong in a separate explosives guide; here C4 only comes up as a vehicle-killer.
- **Havoc, Lakota, T-72B3, Gepard and Wolf-110 weak points.** None of them are in the video, and nothing official lists hit zones, so any number would be a guess.
- **Anti-air emplacements.** Talon and CIWS against helicopters are base-building topics, not where-to-aim ones.
- **Exact damage numbers per weapon.** WARDOGS doesn't publish vehicle damage tables. The percentages here come from one creator reading the vehicle's health bar.

## FAQ

### Where is the Ural's weak point in WARDOGS?

The large rectangular fuel tank in the gap between the cab and the cargo bed, on the driver's side only. In Antpile's test, one RPG-7 there destroyed a full-health Ural, while hits to the cab or bed do about a third each, so three rockets. It isn't 100% reliable, and C4 on the tank never one-shots it. On the Ural Defender, an armor plate covers the tank, so it takes two rockets.

### How do you destroy a tank in WARDOGS?

Get behind it. In the test, the L2A6 died to three RPGs in the rear and five to the back half of the side, and front hits are wasted until its front armor breaks. The SPH-2 artillery needs only two rockets or two C4 charges on the rear. Blowing off the tracks stops a tank but does little to its health, so use it to set up rear shots.

### How many RPGs does it take to kill a Humvee in WARDOGS?

Two, if you hit the grille or a side: each rocket does about 40%, and two set it on fire so the crew has to bail. The rear is heavily armored and needs an estimated four or five rockets, which is why Humvee crews should reverse into position. The plain Humvee pays only $600 when destroyed in Season 02, against $4,250 for the M249 and $5,000 for the Minigun version.

### Can you shoot down a Little Bird with a rifle in WARDOGS?

Yes. One 60-round magazine of FMJ took about 40-50% off a Little Bird in the test, so two players with 60-round magazines can down one in a single reload, and an M249 with the 200-round box can do it alone. AP is only slightly better and HP does about 10% per magazine. Aim at the body, not the tail rotor, because rotor hits don't damage the airframe.

### Did Season 2 change vehicle armor in WARDOGS?

No. The Season 02 patch notes don't mention vehicle armor, hit zones or fuel tanks. They did change rewards: a destroyed Ural now pays $1,000 instead of $2,500, the Lakota $1,500 instead of $3,700 and the L2A6 $11,000. Season 02 also made the RPG-7 cheaper at $1,800, moved C4 to Assault level 4 and added the T-72B3 (Driver 20) and the Gepard (Driver 25), whose weak points haven't been tested yet.
