## 🎯 The core idea

> There is no single "best operator" in Delta Force Operations — trio and solo extraction are close to different games, and the operator tier list flips hard between them. In trios, Toxik, Tempest, Nox, Luna, Raptor and Gizmo anchor S tier; solo strips almost all of that away and rewards exactly three things: an escape tool, a smoke, or recon, which is why Nox, Hackclaw, Luna and Morse dominate the solo list instead.

<li><span class="badge grind">grind</span> pays off slowly</li>

## Why one tier list can't cover both modes

Trio play in Operations rewards operators whose utility holds up with two teammates backing it up — smokes, revives, area denial. [Solo play](/guides/delta-force-operations-solo-guide-play-style-map-phases-and-combat-rules), run alone against duos and trios, rewards something completely different: an operator has to help you survive contact you didn't choose, not win a coordinated fight. The video ranks both separately for Season 10 (Meltdown), and the two lists disagree on more operators than they agree on.

## Trio tier list: Assault

D-Wolf lands low-A/high-B in trios: he's flexible and decent on every map, but every other Assault does at least one thing better than him. Vyron sits just above him — every part of his kit (knockdown, C4s, dash-refresh-on-kill) is consistently good, and it has the highest movement skill ceiling of any Assault, but that same ceiling is what keeps him out of S tier for most players. Tempest is called S tier almost by default: her self-res ultimate is close to a free extra life for a coordinated trio, her disarm and roll ask little skill investment, and she's explicitly the operator handed to new players because she's easy to get value from immediately.

## Trio tier list: Support, Engineer and Recon

Toxik is ranked the clear best Support in trios — best-in-class blinding smokes, a strong UAV, and faster team healing with no real downside across any map. Stinger sits in the middle of the pack: reliably useful (double smokes, gun-based healing) but consistently weaker than the other Support picks, and flagged as needing a direct buff rather than a nerf to something else. Vlinder lands at B: her AOE heal and drone-revive ultimate are real value, but her smokes are small and high-skill, so most players get more out of Stinger or Toxik instead.

Among Engineers, Gizmo gets the rare call of S tier — "maybe the first time I've ever put an Engineer at S tier" — largely for how oppressive his fast-deploying spiders and smoke are indoors, with the map-dependence (weaker in wide-open areas) as the only real caveat. N-Two, this season's new Engineer, lands at A: his ice grenades are extremely strong indoors and have surprising 80-yard outdoor range, but the kit is described as harder to use well and heavily map-dependent (best on Prison and Space-type interiors). Sineva is ranked highly for how oppressive he is to push once a trio commits to playing around him, with a skill ceiling as the main caveat. Shepherd settles at the top of C: still excellent indoors at close range, but limited outdoors and increasingly out-competed by newer Engineers across the wider map pool.

Recon is where the list is most stable: Luna is called the best all-round operator in the game full stop, valuable in literally every scenario. Raptor gets S tier too, on the strength of a low-effort, high-value aerial drone and a strong EMP. Hackclaw drops to A — she's still strong indoors and on specific maps, but Nox has taken over much of her old flanking niche in the current trio meta. Morse, this season's other new operator, lands at A rather than S: very strong indoors with a stun that can win a 1v1 outright, but explicitly weaker outdoors than Raptor or Luna.

<div class="tipbox video">The video's own caveat: this ranking targets an average player across every map, not a specialist. Gizmo, N-Two and Morse are all individually argued to be S tier in indoor-heavy fights specifically — the placements above assume you're not always getting to pick your fight location.</div>

## Solo play changes the math completely

Once you're playing solo against duos and trios with no teammates to revive you or back up a fight, the video's own framing is blunt: solo is "about survivability and recon," and it currently feels like you're pushed toward Recon operators if you actually want to fight rather than just loot and hide. A clear pattern holds across every class: the strongest solo picks all have good escape movement, a smoke, or real recon — Support and Engineer kits that lean on teammates to capitalize on their utility lose most of their value the moment nobody's there to follow up.

## Solo tier list: the biggest movers

<ol class="checklist">
<li class="ch free">
<label><input type="checkbox"><span class="body"><span class="name">Nox stays S tier solo — his ultimate doubles as an escape tool</span> <span class="badge free">free</span><br><span class="desc">A well-timed third-party ultimate window is nearly impossible to read from the outside, and the same ability lets you disengage a fight you don't want. </li>
<li class="ch free">
<label><input type="checkbox"><span class="body"><span class="name">Hackclaw is argued to be the single best solo operator in the game</span> <span class="badge free">free</span><br><span class="desc">A silent passive for escapability, a dagger that disables utility and isolates fights, and an ultimate that reveals exact operator and armor info for everyone in range — no other operator hands you that much actionable information alone.</span></span></label>
<em><a class="jump" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTxEeoDSHzY&t=2026s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">33:46 ↗️</a></em>
</li>
<li class="ch setup">
<label><input type="checkbox"><span class="body"><span class="name">Luna and Morse round out solo S/A tier for the same reason: recon</span> <span class="badge setup">setup</span><br><span class="desc">Luna is S tier solo exactly as in trios — good in every scenario, no smoke needed. </li>
</ol>

The biggest solo fallers are the Engineers and Supports who were strong in trios specifically because a team was there to exploit their setup: Shepherd, Uluru and Sineva are all ranked low-C to D solo (Sineva is called "pretty terrible" solo despite being a strong trio pick), and Toxik — an S-tier trio Support — drops all the way to B solo, because a UAV or heal with nobody to push alongside you doesn't convert into the same value.

## How this compares to a second, more recent source

Cross-checking against a separate Season Meltdown operator breakdown (dated August 18, 2026, closer to the season's mid-point) mostly agrees on direction but splits on Toxik and Nox specifically. That source describes Toxik and Sineva as having been directly buffed this patch cycle and ranks Toxik in its "A" tier for the extraction mode rather than outright S — a smaller gap than this video's "still the best support in the game, no downside" framing, but not a contradiction, since both agree she's a top-tier pick either way. It also independently confirms Nox (spelled with an "x," not "Knox") is considered overtuned enough to have drawn explicit developer attention, matching this video's read that he's likely to be nerfed. Both sources agree Luna, N-Two and Shepherd are strong, safe picks regardless of which list you're reading.

## Comparing abilities across classes, not just names

A tier list only means something once you compare what each operator's abilities actually do for your specific playstyle, not just the letter next to their name. An escape ability (Nox's ultimate, D-Wolf's slide) matters most solo; a team-facing ability (Toxik's smokes, Sineva's oppression) matters most in a trio. When two operators land in the same tier, the tie-breaker in this guide is always which one's kit fits the mode you're actually queuing for.

## How this guide was fact-checked

Every tier placement and the reasoning behind it is read directly from POACH's Season 10 (Meltdown) tier list video (38:21, published 2026-07-15), which explicitly covers Operations extraction mode only, split into trio and solo rankings. Operator names were cross-checked against a separate, more recent (2026-08-18) Season Meltdown operator breakdown to correct for auto-caption transcription errors in the source audio — several names in the raw transcript were phonetically garbled (rendered as "Knox," "Byron," "Toxic," "Blender," "Alulu," "Seneva," and "in two's"/"into") and have been corrected here to their official spellings: Nox, Vyron, Toxik, Vlinder, Uluru, Sineva, and N-Two. The new-operator details (N-Two's cryo kit, this season's balance changes) are also confirmed against that same source.

## What this guide doesn't answer

This guide covers Operations (extraction) only — the video's creator explicitly frames the whole list around that mode, and a separate cross-check source confirms Warfare (32v32) uses a meaningfully different set of rankings, since objective-holding and respawns change what "good" means for an operator. This guide also doesn't give exact ability numbers (cooldowns, damage values, range figures) beyond the few called out on screen or in patch notes, since the source video is a subjective ranking discussion rather than a stat sheet — check each operator's in-game ability screen for current numbers, since Team Jade patches balance roughly every 7–10 days and any tier list, including this one, is a snapshot that will drift. Two operators mentioned only in passing during the video (a brief aside about a low-tier Assault pick) weren't included here because the name couldn't be confidently matched against the confirmed 17-operator roster — better to omit than guess.
