## 🎯 The core idea

> The Gunsmith looks like five simple bars, but two of them lie about what they do: Control is your real recoil stat, and Accuracy only governs hip-fire spread. Once you know what each stat actually measures, picking attachments and calibrating them stops being guesswork and becomes a straightforward trade of grams and money for recoil control. Weapon customization in Delta Force is genuinely deep, and this walkthrough is written for beginners who have never opened the Details panel before — no prior Gunsmith knowledge assumed.

## What the five Gunsmith stats actually measure

![Delta Force Gunsmith damage tab showing MP7 damage falloff graph and per-body-part damage numbers](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/08/frame_0085_kg88RDe.jpg)

Open any weapon in the Gunsmith, scroll to the stat summary, and click "Details" at the bottom — the top-level bars hide a second screen with five full tabs. On the stock MP7 in this build the tabs read Damage 34, Control 46, Handling 60, Stability 51, and an Accuracy value that only matters from the hip. The Damage tab is the one that behaves exactly like you'd expect: a falloff graph against range, plus a body diagram of flat per-hit numbers. On this MP7, an unarmored hit does 68 to the head, 34 to the chest and stomach, and 17 everywhere else (arms, hands, legs, feet), and the falloff multiplier drops from 1.0 to roughly 0.8 by the 40 m mark and holds there.

<div class="tipbox video">In the video the presenter reads these body-part numbers straight off the diagram rather than a wiki, which is why this guide treats them as build-specific reference points rather than universal constants — Delta Force's own Gunsmith explains the falloff curve shape, but exact numbers are tuned per weapon and per season.</div>

## Control is your recoil stat, not Stability

![Delta Force Gunsmith control tab showing recoil sub-attributes and trajectory distribution comparison](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/08/frame_0126.jpg)

This is the single most useful thing in the whole video: recoil control does not live under the Stability tab, it lives under Control. The Control tab breaks down into four sub-attributes — full-auto vertical/horizontal recoil multiplier, and single/burst vertical/horizontal recoil multiplier — plus a side-by-side trajectory graph comparing your base spray pattern to your current, modified one. Any attachment description that says it "increases Control" is the one reducing how far your reticle climbs and drifts when you hold the trigger. If you're chasing a tighter recoil pattern and reading attachment tooltips for "stability" instead of "control," you'll pick the wrong parts.

## Handling and Stability: speed versus steadiness

![Delta Force Gunsmith handling tab listing ADS speed, sprint fire delay and reload time sub-attributes](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/08/frame_0190_YEc0ZU6.jpg)

Handling is a catch-all for every timing stat on the weapon: ADS speed, sprint-to-fire delay, ADS movement speed, walk speed, sprint speed, reload time, empty reload time, holster time and weapon-switch time all sit under this one number. On the base MP7 that means a 289 ms ADS speed, a 109 ms sprint-fire delay, 1.8 s reload (2 s from empty), and a 0.3 s holster and weapon-switch time. If a gun feels sluggish to pull up or slow to reload, Handling is the stat to chase — not Stability, which covers something adjacent but different.

![Delta Force Gunsmith stability tab showing breath sway range and hit flinch multiplier](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/08/frame_0230.jpg)

Stability is about how much the gun moves on its own: breath sway range (0.42° on this build), breath-holding duration (20 s), the recoil reduction you get while holding your breath (0.95x — i.e. barely any bonus at this stability level), your hit-flinch multiplier (0.8x, so getting shot at kicks the reticle 20% less than base), and movement/lens stability while firing. High stability matters most for guns you'll be holding your breath with or getting shot at while aiming — snipers and marksman rifles more than SMGs.

<p class="note">Accuracy is the fifth stat and easy to misread: it only affects hip-fire spread tightness, not aim-down-sights accuracy or bullet spread while ADS. An attachment that costs you Accuracy is only costing you hip-fire performance.</p>

## Choosing a barrel: the attachment that shapes everything else

![Installing the Lunar Chrome Barrel on an MP7 showing range control handling and stability gains](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/08/frame_0458_DQ55AG7.jpg)

Barrel is the first attachment slot worth thinking hard about, because on most guns it also unlocks extra attachment slots (this MP7's barrels open up a bipod mount and two rail patches). More slots isn't automatically better — every added part is more weight and worse handling — so judge each barrel by its actual stat trade, not by how many extra mounting points it opens. Across four barrel options priced between 23,000 and 49,000 in-game currency, the Lunar Chrome Barrel at 27,782 was the pick: Range +6, Control +4, Handling +4, Stability +4, with zero hip-fire (Accuracy) cost. The two pricier options each traded away 12 points of hip-fire accuracy for gains this build didn't need.

<label><input type="checkbox"><span class="body"><span class="name">Compare barrels by what they take, not just what they give</span> <span class="badge cheap">cheap</span><br><span class="desc">A barrel that doesn't touch Accuracy is worth more than a cheaper one that quietly drops 12 points of hip-fire.</span></span></label>

</ol>

## Suppressor, grips, magazine and stock: fast picks and why

For an SMG built around close-range hip-fire, the video's picks were consistent with one goal: keep hip-fire accuracy high while pushing Control and Stability up. The Multi Suppressor was chosen over three cheaper/pricier alternatives because it kept Stability and Accuracy untouched while still adding range and Control — the other suppressors on the list dropped handling or the hip-fire stat this build depends on. The Stable Rear Grip added Control and Stability at a small Handling cost. The 60-round magazine was the obvious pick for an SMG that empties mags fast, even though bigger mags always cost a little Handling. For the stock, the video weighed the High Performance Stock (more Accuracy) against the Shadow Buffer Stock (more Handling, some Stability lost) and went with the Shadow Buffer for the extra control an SMG needs while moving. The foregrip pick was the Universal Front Hand Stop, chosen specifically to recover the hip-fire accuracy this weapon needed even though it cost a little Control.

<div class="tipbox video">In the video these five picks are explained in under two minutes each — the underlying logic (protect hip-fire Accuracy, push Control and Stability, accept some Handling loss) is the reusable part, not the specific attachment names, which get rebalanced across seasons.</div>

## Optics and rails: the genuinely subjective part

![Delta Force optic selection screen showing the Mini Red Dot Sight handling tradeoff on the MP7](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/08/frame_0684.jpg)

Once the functional stats are locked in, optics and rails are mostly a matter of taste — the underlying scope stats are identical across most options at a given tier, so the decision comes down to price and screen real estate. This build added a Multi-Purpose Tactical Rail (to free up the top rail for a laser), a Riser Optic (so the red-dot sits above the laser instead of being blocked by it), and a Mini Red Dot Sight, which cost 2 points of Handling in exchange for a clean sight picture. No extra rail attachments were added on top, since the riser and optic already covered what those would have offered.

## Calibration: tuning the parts you already installed

![Delta Force barrel calibration sliders adjusting weight and length with live calibration effect readout](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/08/frame_0767.jpg)

Calibration is a second, free layer of tuning on top of whatever attachments you've already bought — you're moving sliders on parts you own, not paying for new gear. From Gunsmith, go to Modify → Calibrate to see which installed parts can be tuned (in this build: barrel, foregrip, rear grip, stock and riser optic). Every slider is a direct trade: on the barrel, sliding weight down trades Firing Stability for ADS Movement Speed — this build's Lunar Chrome Barrel showed a live readout of +3.84% ADS Movement Speed against -3.84% Firing Stability at one end of the slider. The barrel's length slider trades ADS speed for muzzle velocity in the same way. The rule the video repeats for every slider is the same: decide what the gun needs to do (snap ADS for close range, or sit still for long holds) and move the slider toward that need, not toward the biggest number. This is also the cheapest way to reduce recoil once your attachment budget runs out — calibration is free, so squeeze it before buying a pricier part.

## The finished build, its price, and how it performs

![Final calibrated MP7 loadout stat sheet in the Delta Force Gunsmith loadouts tab](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/08/frame_0972.jpg)

The finished MP7 in the Loadouts tab reads: Damage 32, Range 30 m, Control 70, Handling 60, Stability 50, Accuracy 88, Armor Penetration 28, Fire Rate 950 rpm, Capacity 60, Muzzle Velocity 726 m/s, Gunshot Sound range 150 m, at a total value of 594,920 in-game currency. Compared to the bare weapon, Control climbed from 46 to 70 and Handling from roughly the base line to 60, while Accuracy actually improved to 88 rather than suffering — proof that the "protect hip-fire" attachment choices paid off rather than just avoiding losses.

![Delta Force firing range test showing HP damage armor damage and headshot rate for a calibrated MP7](https://api.guides-factory.com/media/uploads/2026/08/frame_0561_1osTLL4.jpg)

Tested live on the range at roughly 30–35 m, the calibrated MP7 holds a tight, controllable pattern with only small aim corrections needed — the video's own read is that this is close to the effective limit for an SMG engagement distance; beyond it, switch to an AR or a sniper rather than trying to stretch an SMG's range further.

<p class="note">The video's on-screen numbers shift slightly between the initial base-weapon teardown (Damage 34) and the final loadout screen (Damage 32) — likely a different weapon skin/roll shown at each point, since no attachment in this build lists a Damage stat. Treat the final Loadouts-tab numbers as the authoritative "as-built" figures.</p>

## How this guide was fact-checked

Every attachment name, stat number and price in this guide was read directly off frames captured from NERFMODE+'s Gunsmith walkthrough (18 min, published 2026-02-26) at the timestamps linked throughout — the Details panels, barrel/optic install screens, calibration sliders and the final Loadouts-tab stat sheet all show their numbers on-screen. The general attachment categories (Mag, Rear Grip, Foregrip, Barrel, Muzzle, Optic, Stock) were cross-checked against the Delta Force Tools wiki (deltaforcetools.gg/wiki/attachment), which lists the same attachment slot types and confirms this is the game's real Gunsmith taxonomy rather than the presenter's own terminology; the wiki's per-item pages are catalogue listings rather than build guides, so build logic and exact stat trade-offs still come from the video, not the wiki.

## What this guide doesn't answer

This guide covers customizing a single SMG (the MP7) end-to-end; it doesn't cover attachment stats for assault rifles, sniper rifles or LMGs, which have different slot layouts and different priority stats (an AR generally wants more Range and Control for mid-range fights, a sniper wants Stability above all else). It also doesn't cover ammunition types, which the presenter notes affect damage independently of any Gunsmith attachment and are covered in a separate guide. Since exact attachment stat values get retuned every season, treat the specific numbers here (barrel prices, calibration percentages) as a worked example of the method rather than guaranteed current-patch values — the method (read Control for recoil, Handling for speed, protect your Accuracy if you rely on hip-fire) is what stays true across balance passes.

## FAQ

### What do the Gunsmith's five stats (Damage, Control, Handling, Stability, Accuracy) actually control in Delta Force?

Damage covers raw hit numbers and range falloff. Control is your real recoil stat, covering full-auto and single/burst vertical and horizontal recoil multipliers. Handling covers every timing stat: ADS speed, sprint-fire delay, movement speeds, reload and holster times. Stability covers breath sway, breath-hold duration, and how much getting shot at shakes your aim. Accuracy only affects hip-fire spread tightness.

### Does Accuracy affect aim-down-sights precision in Delta Force?

No. The Gunsmith Details panel states this directly: Accuracy only affects how tight your shots are when firing from the hip, not ADS spread or bullet spray while aiming. Recoil while ADS is governed by the Control stat instead, so don't sacrifice Control for Accuracy if you mostly fight while aiming down sights.

### Which barrel is best for the MP7 in Delta Force?

In this build the Lunar Chrome Barrel (27,782 currency) was chosen over three alternatives priced 23,000-49,000. It adds Range +6, Control +4, Handling +4 and Stability +4 with zero Accuracy cost, while the pricier options each traded away 12 points of hip-fire Accuracy for gains this SMG build didn't need. Judge any barrel by what it costs you, not just what it opens up.

### What does calibration do after installing a Gunsmith attachment in Delta Force?

Calibration is a free second layer of tuning on parts you've already bought — go to Modify then Calibrate. Sliders on the barrel, foregrip, rear grip, stock and riser optic let you trade one stat for another, such as the barrel's weight slider trading Firing Stability for ADS Movement Speed (a live +3.84%/-3.84% trade in this build). It costs nothing beyond the attachment itself, so use it before buying a pricier part.

### How much does a fully built MP7 loadout cost in Delta Force, and is it worth it?

This fully calibrated MP7 build totals 594,920 in-game currency and ends with Control 70, Handling 60, Stability 50 and Accuracy 88 — Accuracy actually improved over the base weapon rather than being sacrificed. For a close-range SMG built around hip-fire, that's a worthwhile trade since none of the picks cost the hip-fire stat this weapon depends on.
