## 🎯 The core idea

![Delta Force gunsmith screen showing the AKM assault rifle with every attachment slot laid out - muzzle, barrel, foregrip, rails, mag and stock - before the S-tier build is assembled](/media/guides/markdown/4707b6e2-010a-4741-b2ad-1305f8d29026.png)

This is the slot map the whole build works from, so you can see exactly which seven pieces are being spent and which stay empty.

> Razor's Season 10 AKM setup is built around close-to-medium range control for Warfare mode: every attachment trades a little raw damage or handling for tighter recoil and a faster follow-up shot, and the in-game calibration screens document those trade-offs more precisely than the narration does out loud.

</ul>

## Muzzle: DTK Muzzle Brake

![Delta Force gunsmith muzzle list with the DTK Muzzle Brake equipped on the AKM, its Accuracy and Firing Stability effects and the weapon stat bars visible](/media/guides/markdown/c1d5553a-8972-42dc-8b49-6b0f519af06c.png)

The DTK is the one muzzle that buys firing stability without charging any handling, which is why it beats the FFC Double Port on this build.

Razor opens the build on the muzzle slot, swapping to the DTK Muzzle Brake before touching anything else — it's the piece the rest of the recoil-control build is calibrated around.

<ol class="checklist">
<li class="ch free"><label><input type="checkbox"><span class="body"><span class="name">DTK Muzzle Brake</span> <span class="badge free">free</span><br><span class="desc">Equip first. The base AKM panel above shows the full stat baseline (Control 56, Stability 63, Handling 55) this piece is built on top of.</span></span></label> <em><a class="jump" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZx_uKZu6LY&t=182s">3:02 ↗️</a></em></li>
</ol>

<div class="tipbox video">The stat panel open at this point shows the exact baseline numbers before any grip or stock changes — worth a screenshot of your own loadout screen so you can compare before/after once you start calibrating.</div>

<div class="divider">═══ ═══</div>

## Magazine: 40-Round Extended Mag

![Delta Force magazine screen with the AKM 40-Round Extended Mag selected, showing it holds 40 rounds at a cost to handling, reload time, stability and firing stability](/media/guides/markdown/bcd5d677-168f-461f-ae45-79c356d988bc.png)

It shows the real price of the 40-round mag - four separate stat penalties - which is why the rest of the build is spent buying stability back.

He moves to the 40-round extended magazine next, describing it as his standard pick for sustained fights rather than quick trades.

<ol class="checklist">
<li class="ch free"><label><input type="checkbox"><span class="body"><span class="name">40-Round Extended Mag</span> <span class="badge free">free</span><br><span class="desc">Bigger buffer for prolonged engagements. Adds reload time and handling weight versus the base mag.</span></span></label> <em><a class="jump" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZx_uKZu6LY&t=199s">3:19 ↗️</a></em></li>
</ol>

<p class="note">Treat the reserve-ammo figure loosely: later gameplay footage shows 210 rounds in reserve, which doesn't cleanly divide by a 40-round mag — likely a perk or ammo-capacity modifier stacking on top that the video never explains. Comments also mention 30-round variants of this same build working fine if you'd rather trade capacity for handling.</p>

<div class="divider">═══ ═══</div>

## Grip: Phantom Vertical Foregrip

![Delta Force foregrip screen with the Phantom Vertical Foregrip on the AKM and its calibration effect list showing plus 16 percent stability when moving and minus 3.36 percent ADS speed](/media/guides/markdown/686241fc-4ea2-46c3-b51b-455560867b1e.png)

These four numbers are the exact trade the Phantom makes, and they are never read out loud in the video.

<ol class="checklist">
<li class="ch setup"><label><input type="checkbox"><span class="body"><span class="name">Phantom Vertical Foregrip</span> <span class="badge setup">setup</span><br><span class="desc">Razor frames this as an ADS-speed pick, but the calibration panel above shows a -3.36% ADS Speed cost and a -4% ADS Movement Speed cost alongside the +16% moving-stability and +3.36% control gains — a real trade in both directions, not a pure upside.</span></span></label> <em><a class="jump" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZx_uKZu6LY&t=206s">3:26 ↗️</a></em></li>
</ol>

<div class="divider">═══ ═══</div>

## Grip: AK Heavy Tower Grip

![Delta Force rear grip screen with the AK Heavy Tower Grip fitted to the AKM, listing plus 6 percent extra control against minus 15.68 percent stability when moving](/media/guides/markdown/45c36f92-62c4-49fa-826e-6e1904a1c5f2.png)

The Heavy Tower's -15.68% moving stability is precisely what the Phantom's +16% cancels out, which is why the two grips are picked as a pair.

<ol class="checklist">
<li class="ch setup"><label><input type="checkbox"><span class="body"><span class="name">AK Heavy Tower Grip</span> <span class="badge setup">setup</span><br><span class="desc">Called out as carrying "all the stability" in the build. The grip-mount screen shows this sits on the same Control/Stability/Handling stat block as every other piece, so its actual contribution is easiest to judge by watching those three numbers change as you swap grips in-game.</span></span></label> <em><a class="jump" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZx_uKZu6LY&t=233s">3:53 ↗️</a></em></li>
</ol>

<p class="note">This is the clearest narration-vs-screen gap in the video: the spoken claim leans on this one grip for "all the stability," but the calibration panels for the individual pieces (see the Phantom Foregrip panel above) show stability gains spread across several [attachments](/guides/delta-force-gunsmith-attachments-recoil-control-explained), not concentrated in one. Worth checking the panel yourself in-game before copying the pick blind.</p>

<div class="divider">═══ ═══</div>

## Stock: CT Enhanced Stock

![Delta Force stock screen with the CT Enhanced Stock equipped on the AKM, showing plus 6 percent extra control, minus 3.84 percent firing stability and minus 18 percent breath stability while aiming](/media/guides/markdown/8a1cb9e5-eec0-4ac9-ba30-0989a007eaa5.png)

Shows the control-for-stability swap that makes the CT the pick over the Skeleton Sniper Stock, which reads Control 50 (-8), Handling 57 (+2), Stability 67 (+4).

<ol class="checklist">
<li class="ch setup"><label><input type="checkbox"><span class="body"><span class="name">CT Enhanced Stock</span> <span class="badge setup">setup</span><br><span class="desc">Picked over the Skeleton Sniper Stock for a steadier stance at close-to-medium range; expect a movement-speed trade for the added stability, consistent with the other stability-focused pieces in this build.</span></span></label> <em><a class="jump" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZx_uKZu6LY&t=258s">4:18 ↗️</a></em></li>
</ol>

<div class="divider">═══ ═══</div>

## Handle: C Handle

![Delta Force C-Handle slot on the AKM with the ZenitCo Charging Handle Cap installed, a pure handling attachment with no listed downside](/media/guides/markdown/4be4d499-d2ac-4bb1-b88f-ecc1e01af0f7.png)

This is the free slot in the build - handling with nothing given back - so it goes on every AKM without thinking.

<ol class="checklist">
<li class="ch free"><label><input type="checkbox"><span class="body"><span class="name">C Handle</span> <span class="badge free">free</span><br><span class="desc">Rounds out handling on the grip side; a smaller, supporting pick rather than a standout stat swing.</span></span></label> <em><a class="jump" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZx_uKZu6LY&t=275s">4:35 ↗️</a></em></li>
</ol>

<div class="divider">═══ ═══</div>

## Optics: MEO Sight Riser

![Delta Force optic slot on the AKM with the MEO Micro Sight Riser selected, showing its stability and handling effects alongside the full weapon stat block](/media/guides/markdown/c6c07cbc-4a2d-4f05-90e9-ca2b00f2dc38.png)

Confirms the riser is a stats pick rather than a looks pick, sitting in the optic slot instead of a magnified scope.

<ol class="checklist">
<li class="ch skip"><label><input type="checkbox"><span class="body"><span class="name">MEO Sight Riser</span> <span class="badge skip">skip</span><br><span class="desc">Cosmetic sight-height adjustment only — no stat effect. Skip it if you'd rather spend the slot elsewhere.</span></span></label> <em><a class="jump" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZx_uKZu6LY&t=285s">4:45 ↗️</a></em></li>
</ol>

<div class="divider">═══ ═══</div>

## Calibration pass

![Delta Force calibration screen tuning the AKM Phantom Vertical Foregrip with Position set to plus 7 slots and Thickness to plus 20 mm](/media/guides/markdown/d0b226b5-47fd-42d4-a881-9afb6088c7c6.png)

The exact slider positions for the foregrip - +7 slots and +20 mm - which you cannot recover from the narration alone.

Between 5:00 and 6:17 Razor runs through the calibration screen and reads out a string of numbers ("65 64 54 289 22") while adjusting sliders. The detail screens below show what those calibration points actually move on the finished build.

![Delta Force calibration screen tuning the AKM AK Heavy Tower Grip with Weight at plus 50 g and Thickness pulled to minus 19.6 mm for maximum control](/media/guides/markdown/30f481f9-601d-44f5-86c1-5c05d4e195e8.png)

The -19.6 mm thickness setting is the 'one bar to the right' the video mentions, pinned to a number you can copy.

<div class="tipbox video">The handling detail screen is the most useful one to check yourself: even though the Phantom Foregrip's own calibration panel lists a -3.36% ADS Speed cost, the finished build's overall ADS Speed still comes out faster (327ms → 291ms) once every piece is combined. Individual attachment penalties don't always show up in the final net number — check the aggregate panel, not just the per-piece deltas.</div>

![Delta Force weapon details panel for the AKM showing handling 55 with ADS speed moving from 327 ms to 291 ms and sprint-to-fire delay from 209 ms to 232 ms](/media/guides/markdown/3146bce3-f9b4-43d3-b858-2f9ebc41209d.png)

This is the before-and-after screen that proves the calibration pass is worth doing - 36 ms of ADS speed gained for a small sprint-to-fire cost.

<p class="note">Uncertain: it isn't clear from either the audio or the visible panels exactly which slider each spoken number corresponds to. The pinned comment on the video lists three separate build codes (40-round, 30-round, and 70-round mag variants) — only one of those is actually walked through on screen, and the final saved loadout is stored under a preset literally named "TEST," which suggests even Razor treats this as a work-in-progress rather than a final, locked build.</p>

![Delta Force weapon select screen showing the finished AKM loadout at damage 26, range 32 m, control 56, handling 55, stability 63, 600 rpm and 531 m/s muzzle velocity](/media/guides/markdown/5494bdd7-98eb-4449-b223-0915fd5edc27.png)

The finished numbers to check your own build against once every attachment and calibration is in place.

<div class="divider">═══ ═══</div>

## Seeing it in a match

![Delta Force match footage of the finished AKM build scoring a double kill inside a bunker, with the kill and objective experience feed on screen](/media/guides/markdown/8a9b346f-be12-4e67-b0f2-aad2e041a3d1.png)

The low-recoil close-range profile in practice: two enemies down in one burst without the sight leaving the target.

From 6:26 onward the video switches to Warfare gameplay with this loadout equipped, including the HUD moment above — useful for seeing how the recoil pattern actually behaves under real fights rather than just in the calibration menu.

![Delta Force end-of-match victory scoreboard with the AKM build topping the team leaderboard on 46,101 score and 142 kills](/media/guides/markdown/422accf9-008a-4055-b2d7-fe64f230e408.png)

The end-of-round result the build produced, so you know the numbers above came from a full match rather than a range test.

<div class="tipbox alt">Not everyone is convinced the specific attachment list is what's carrying the performance. The top comment (30+ likes) argues it's the player's aim and positioning doing the work, not the gun — worth keeping in mind before treating any single loadout as a guaranteed fix. Other commenters mention running a cheaper, less calibration-heavy version of this same build with similar results, and a couple specifically question how precisely the calibration numbers need to be copied versus just landing "close enough."</div>

## FAQ

### Is this AKM build good for beginners, or does it need heavy calibration to work?

The core attachments (muzzle, magazine, both grips, stock, handle) work without touching calibration at all. Calibration is a refinement step on top, not a requirement to make the build usable.

### Why does the video mention a 30-round and a 70-round mag variant if only the 40-round mag is shown?

The pinned comment on the video lists build codes for all three magazine sizes, but only the 40-round version is walked through on camera. Commenters report the 30-round variant handles well if you'd rather trade capacity for speed.

### Does the AK Heavy Tower Grip actually give a pure stability boost?

Not entirely. The on-screen calibration panel shows it costs some stability-adjacent stats even as it improves others, so it's a trade rather than a flat increase, despite how it's described verbally in the video.

### Why doesn't the reserve ammo count match the 40-round magazine size?

The gameplay footage shows 210 reserve rounds, which doesn't divide evenly by 40. This likely comes from a separate ammo-capacity perk or modifier the video doesn't explain, so treat the exact reserve number as build-dependent rather than fixed.

### Is the MEO Sight Riser worth using in this build?

Not really — it's purely cosmetic in this video, adjusting sight height with no stat impact, so it's safe to skip if you'd rather prioritize a different optic.
